Maybe, but Lucy is definitely one of the most realistic examples of a femme fatale I’ve ever seen. Pretty rare for a show to actually try to make the viewer empathize with them (and succeed), instead of just making her out to be evil for the sake of it. I think a major part of that is that David genuinely loves her, and actually wants the disaster that her presence brings, and she wants the same for him.

In another youtuber's video It was discussed that Rebecca was originally not in the anime and was added in later by Studio Trigger, this was easy as she never really made a big difference in the plot of the anime, and yet despite that I feel that everyone can agree with me that she was by far one of the most important characters seeing as how much she impacted the feeling behind the story, like a bow atop a present she wrapped up Edgerunners nice and neatly for all of us :).

Man, out of all of them, Rebecca's death was by far the worst. Not only was she a loyal friend till the very end, but she was the only one who was HAPPY. Sure, she still struggled day to day and faced danger wherever she went, but she had friends, and that was all she needed. She ws the only one not "struggling" to escape, desperately scratching at the walls to attain some perceived height that would finally fill the void. Her only goal was to protect those closest to her, because with them, she wanted for nothing, and was therefore above and beyond the system that kept everyone else in their destructive paths. She was free from the sick game of the society that promised all your dreams and took everything in the end because she never had to play in the first place. It was sad to see the only true victor have to die just because, as happy as she was, she refused to leave someone else behind and just think of herself.

I'm realizing now, Becca was the one who was actually actively there for Dave, both physically and emotionally. Physically, by fighting on the streets next to him and watching his back. Emotionally, by (among other things) trying to make him feel included, by checking up on him before anything super crazy happened, and by comforting him even when it looked like he was finally losing his mind, truly understanding what was going on in his mind and his heart and trying to make just the right comment he needed even if it hurt her having to be in that situation in which she had to both see him in that state, and impersonate his mother to try and bring some comfort. All this instead of what Lucy did for him, which consisted of being 99% absent all along and not truly understanding anything that was going on in his mind, not communicating at all, and only when things spiraled out of control just... giving him a kiss, which just so happened to be the thing that'd calm him down, by miracle... She was a lot smarter socially and for actual real life than Lucy. I liked Lucy for Dave, but looking back, Becca deserved him a thousand times more. She always looked out for him, even if that meant pairing him up with the girl he wanted, the girl who would make him happy, even if it wasn't her. He prioritazed her love interest, Dave, over herself, and she was 1000x more authentic and honest than Lucy, too... Lucy is alright, but Becca is spectacular. Dave, you threw all the good opportunities you had down the drain...

It's pretty funny because a reviewer I watched pointed out that animal humanoids(a.k.a. essentially furries) were a part of the original tabletop roleplaying game, so it's pretty ballsy of CDPR to preach about what "belongs" in a world setting that they didn't create themselves when they removed that aspect of cyberpunk society.
