Rebecca transcends gender. She’s probably one of the most beautiful people I’ve ever seen. It just radiates from her. I wish she didn’t let such a silly thing as a penis define her. She is glamour. She is vulnerability. She is love and she is wisdom. She is whatever she wants to be.

Mark, it cracks me up how many references of Rebecca’s you miss - including references to obscure 19th century poetry and a dizzying array of other art forms, not to mention cultural notes stretching over 100 years - I, 56 years old and possessing a graduate degree, had to look up a couple of them to answer my own question: “I know I’ve heard those words before; where was it?” If you did catch them, you’d know just how dazzlingly cultured and educated she is (for her age or most ages), auto-didact or otherwise! Thanks so much for all you do for her.

Hi! I'm glad to see a comment of a trans person. I think there's like a 'dismisive vibe' in the air around the fact that she IS a woman and she needs some sort of reafirmation. She needs to be seen as who she is. IMO, it's not 'get well and then decide if you want to transition', I think it's the transitining what may help her out. And I was wondering what other trans folks think about this. Mark is an angel but he doesn't seem to understand this specific situation fully and he says things sometimes that could hurt. I think Rebeca has so much patience everytime Mark calls her 'a handsome male'. I don't know. Thanks for reading, friend :)

@@Olga-vo8gc undergoing medical transition confirms that being an effeminite male is unacceptable, wrong and requires medical, hormonal and surgical intervention. It pathologizes an entire sub category of males (and females) whose personalities are not stereotypical of their sex. Its a placebo treatment at best, that reinforces the very sex stereotypes and homophobia which can lead to HSTS people experiencing severe gender dysphoria to begin with. Long term, it introduces even more physiological and mental health problems than it solves by telling the person they are correct in believing they are not acceptable just as they are. Expand your understanding of what the categories of men and women actually are in reality, rather than pathologizing gender non conforming people.

Love doesn’t consider your opinion over another’s. Mark continually refers to Rebecca as a male, disregarding the obvious gender dysphoria and trauma response he triggers in Rebecca every time he mentions what’s between her legs. More than once he’s beaten this opinion of his that she is a man and he sees her as a male. Living with a trans teen I can assure you that love is acceptance and allowing for free will. That’s what they want to live within, unconditional love and acceptance. She just said “You haven’t given me the space to cry...” and that’s so telling considering she cannot refer to herself as a woman in his presence and be accepted.

Her birthday is August 4th. OF COURSE she's a Leo! ♌ 💜 Us Leo's are FIRE 🔥 In all seriousness, re: sex change, Mark, She's right in saying she would feel better as a woman. That self worth is connected to that to a certain extent. Imagjne if you felt like you were in the wrong body. When the outside doesn't match the inside its kind of a head fck. And having people recognize you, physically, as a woman is part of that. However, i know you're plenty aware that transition is also very difficult, especially if she's on the street. There's so much involved and if she's not in a safe, clean, place with a real, solid, support system of a good regular therapist, a few dependable, caring friends,.. its going to create as many, maybe even more problems than it'll solve. The drugs have got to be dealt with. Rebecca, I know they're fun. (Believe me.. I totally get it!) But, NO ONE with the POWER or AUTHORITY to help you become the fully realized woman YOU ARE will ever take you seriously enough or think that you are responsible or mentally stable enough to have confidence in putting their own careers on the line by authorizing the procedure. You say you will do ANYTHING.... well, EVERYTHING starts with getting sober FIRST. It's a daunting thought, I know. Try to think of getting seriously sober LONG TERM as temporary. As long as you keep it in the back of your mind that you can go back to it someday AFTER you get all your things accomplished. But, save it for LATER. The desire to want what you're "not allowed" to have is one thing that makes the urge so much stronger. I know the worry of having "other people" stand in your way of getting what you want. But, what you can't see from where you're standing is that the MAIN person standing in your way, IS YOU. You hold the power to unlock your future, sweetheart. You have to tap into your ability to SURRENDER. When you described being attacked by that guy and just "letting it happen" as a means of escape... I've been there. More times than I care to recount. That strategy is the limbic system in your brain activating its natural survival instincts. It's called Fight, Flight, Freeze, or Fawn. Your survival responses are primarily freeze and fawn. The essence of the freeze response is SURRENDER. You have to tap into that mentality to save yourself where it relates to doing the things you need to do to set your womanhood free. Surrender to getting sober. Surrender to getting therapy. Surrender to staying in and not socializing Surrender to boredom Surrender to being alone with your own thoughts. Surrender to medications Surrender to listening to what others tell you, you need to do in order to move forward on your journey. Surrender to what Mark is telling you that you need to do. Whenever you RESIST.... that's you holding yourself back.. you're getting in your own way. The very same survival mechanisms that get you through a traumatic experience can also help you through this. Only instead of surrendering to abusers, instead of surrendering to drug addiction, surrender to those who can actually help you. Rebecca, we ALL want to see you succeed. You've been going through life on your own terms, doing things your own way.... its time to trust others to show you a different way, and TRULY FOLLOW IT. That's a tall order for us Leo's, I know. But, you CAN do it!

How would he know what a woman feels like when he's never been one? Statistics show 1/2 commit suicide AFTER they transition. The constant shock and awe is what he's always done. Trans people whose families and community are unsupportive and treats them like they're wrong for being who they are. Its people like YOU that cause a majority of the s*ic*des because they finally make the decision to change and then get abuse and shame from ignorant busybodies. While my values have remained the same, I’ve become far much less judgmental of people since I started watching this channel. I’ve been on this earth six decades, and while I’ve been around and seen all types of people, I’ve never listened in depth to such a wide spectrum of individuals. It’s heart breaking at times, but can also be fascinating and uplifting, seeing different aspects of worth and value in people who are struggling with major issues and rooting for them. . .

You are exactly right. Many of these people hate themselves so much and their lives so much they start to believe if they change themselves completely externally it would solve their problems. These new counselors are pushing that agenda. Sadly there are statistics and studies that show when many of these people completely mutilate themselves to the point of sexual dysfunction and sterility and it did not change anything internally, they commit suicide. For all the people think this would make Rebecca happy, you are sadly mistaken. Until the broken inside is tended to and soul healing is worked on, that is the farthest thing from the truth and ay help to hasten the demise of this fascinating individual.

I think this is a really short sighted comment. If you’ve never experienced gender or body dysphoria, you don’t realise how much it affects every part of you and your life. Gender affirming care SAVES lives. Community that is accepting and supportive without judgement SAVES lives. You don’t know what life is like for her, think twice before making such sweeping judgements.

REBECCA I'VE BEEN WORRIED AND WONDERING ABOUT YOU FOR MONTH'S! Soooo thankful and grateful that you are safe and okay. Some thing's I feel led to say to you. You are such a BEAUTIFUL HUMAN (inside and out)! A beautiful female! You have this charisma about you that draws people in to you, you're obviously very smart, you speak well when you're clean and sober and this interview showed that so well! I'm just a Texas girl whose obsessed with Soft White Underbelly and the work that Mark does. I have extreme depression and anxiety, PTSD, ADHD, social anxiety, insomnia and a mood disorder. I'm also a recovering binge drinker and dabbled in coke for a few month's over six year's ago. I don't drink anymore and it has completely changed my life! I also don't have many "friend's" as I have trust issues so I spend the majority of my time alone in my apartment after work and on weekend's. Regarding that my best advice is sit with yourself clean and sober and alone and make a list (daily if you need to) of everything you love about yourself and be still in the moment and try and learn to enjoy your own company and to be comfortable and happy alone. You're a strong person and learning to be alone and be okay with it in my opinion gives you more strength. I work in the medical field and Mark is 1000% right when he said no doctor is going to help you with your sex change if you're getting high, period! I am sending prayer's and good vibes and energy your way. You are an amazing individual. I ONLY WISH YOU COULD SEE YOURSELF THROUGH MY EYES AND MARK'S EYES AND SEE WHAT WE SEE!!! All jokes aside, I can't believe people still go along with the trans issue. This MAN, is sitting there bare chested with a beard saying he is ready to be a woman... yes, he needs help and he has a sad life, but I can only sympathise so much with someone who is making a mockery out of womanhood. HEY ladies, remember when you just sat around with your breasts exposed and a beard like it's the most natural way for women to act - NOT! Stop encouraging mental instability, it is not kindness.

Out of all the stories I hear about people on this channel, she is the one I root for the most. Genuinely. You can tell how intelligent she is, how charming and shrewd. There is something absolutely magnificent there under the hurt & drugs. The day she finally decides to do right by herself would leave me no excuse to get my life together in the manner I see fit. Which is why i always stay attuned to her updates. She gives me hope, especially how self aware she is and still hasn't given up. Very noble.

Beautifully expressed! You, as well, possess extraordinary vision (for lack of a non-sighted term). I hope you find the resources and support you need to recover. You deserve the life you wish for others. I didn’t think I could get off substances, but after the PAWS (post-acute withdrawal syndrome) passed, it is actually much easier, without all the “hard work” I was warned about. Chasing and hustling for dope was hard work. Hope and healing ❤️‍🩹 to you!

I just watched the video called, "Rebecca Goes Shopping (Summer 2023)" and it's really different seeing her sober. I really hope she gets into rehab... I would be a subscriber in no time if she came out with a channel where she showed/ did things she loves like fashion or just vlogs to recover. Many people are so close to homelessness, living check to check or dependent on city housing or swamped in medical bills and debt. The point is its close. Don't even take your shelter for granted if you are rich because it can all go up in flames or get broken into... life is always such a fight. Just keep swimming I suppose.

Undergoing medical transition, does not heal. It just confirms that being an effeminite male is unacceptable, wrong and requires medical, hormonal and surgical intervention. Expand yoir understanding of what the categories of men and women actually are in reality, rather than pathologizing gender non conforming people.

I would like to hear more about Rebecca's childhood and pre-teen years. I always get the strong feeling that there was a moment, a trauma - something happened, that changed his/her brain pattern as a defense mechanism. I notice that every time Mark tries to talk about something in reality (a job, staying clean, getting off the streets) Rebecca goes into "Hollywood mode." Another observation is the re is a shift in energy and a quickening of speech, then a complete withdraw into La La Land whenever Mark brings up specifically his/her mother.

I see and hear those items too. Trauma produces a splitting off, a fracturing. Deep therapy is needed here before we can see the real person...which would be so nice.

@@Stella.Starlight I would like to add I find it SICKENING that the hospital would just hand Rebecca his/her discharge papers and say "see ya!" Clearly there is severe mental and emotional issues, homelessness and drug addiction - and they just throw people like this back out on the streets????? I just CAN"T.

@@laureldevine Hospitals are not like that though. during your inpatient stay, a social worker visits you and helps you to get connected to services. Part of your inpatient "course of therapy" is to know where you proceed from leaving their auspices. Each patient has an entire team of personnel assigned to them...Hospitalist, primary nurse RN, Social Worker, PT, OT, in-house support services, etc. Discharge Planning paperwork gets filled out on EVERY patient. Sorry to say this but...any patient that does not proceed with safe and healthy suggestions is deemed Non-Compliant legally...but on a personal level is irresponsible towards themselves and souly responsible for the outcome. In a situation like what is being presented here...Legal Guardianship would be a solution. Someone would have to step up for that to take place.

@@Stella.StarlightHomeless people don’t always have the resources e follow through with their plan of care, nor the mental ability to do so, in active addiction. If you think that is all tied up neatly in a bow and handed to them upon discharge, you are mistaken. Truly, from personal experience in both sides of the health care and social service systems…it is NOT.

Heartbreaking and fascinating in heapfuls. I see why you say Rebecca is a genius, Mark. Wise, eloquent, naive, glamorous, warm, honest, demanding, perceptive, self-depreciating, a thinker, complex and so compassionate...a heady concoction. A serial pleaser and probably the three people he wanted to please the most couldn't understand, accept and pay attention to him. Feels dead so wants to cry to feel something. I wish he could allow himself just be quiet for a little bit to a figure out who he is and accept that completely (nothing to do with genders). You are you, male or female and you take you with you wherever you go.

i'm so sorry about your boys. i've just lost a beautiful gay male friend to mental illness and drugs too. 'Rebecca' here is another 'boy'. a gay man. he. him. and he's NOT clean. he appears to be very medicated here, I think Mark may have been mistaken. 'Rebecca' is insisting he wants to 'chop his d*ck off'. all in all, does he strike you as someone to enable by referring to them as the wrong sex just because he says so and just because it's considered 'kind' and 'on trend' to enable this particular 'brand' of mental illness? we do not enable other dysphoric, dismorphic mental issues in the same way. for example: people joke a little or feel sorry for, say, Caroline or other 'psychotic' drug users reeling with trauma. we don't instantly reinforce and agree with every psychotic or deluded drug user. nobody, no matter how much we try to wave our woke-wands at it in support of them, can change sex.

I hold my breath when a new video reminder pops up hoping to hear from Rebecca. This interview was more lucid than the previous and more reminiscent of the first video's I saw. It's clear that she's clean-ish and I hope it's something she can sustain. I know it's hard to hold the demons at bay, especially when you're also struggling with mental health, but I truly hope she's a success story. Your videos truly do peel back the layers to reveal the humanity of the folks you sit with. Your empathy comes through even with just the audio of your questions. God bless you Mark for all that you do. Please pass along my well wishes and love to Rebecca.
