Im glad to see this tutorial. The printed directions that come with the cam are printed in the smallest font possible. Impossible to read with the naked eye. I noticed with the plug that goes in the cigarette lighter socket, that it has two ports. One red and one black. I also saw that you plugged the cable into the red port. Is the black port simply an extra port, so that a cell phone cable could be plugged into it at the same time? You did a great job on this video explaining this in easy to understand terms. Thank you

Thanks Rebecca for a comprehensive review, but I still have a couple of questions: (1) When you command the camera to "shoot left /shoot right /shoot inside", the camera lens rotates to that position, but only holds that position for 10 seconds. If I had a police interaction at my driver's window, for example, I would want the camera to hold the "shoot left" position until the interaction is complete. Can the lens turret be manually rotated left with your hand and will it hold that position until it is manually rotated back to the "shoot forward" position? (2) A number of people are complaining that the camera is listening and taking commands from their radio, passenger conversations and the navigation system of their car. Example: The navigation system says; "turn right at the next intersection" and the camera "shoots right". The camera should have a specific address, such as "OMNI, shoot left", just as one needs to say; ALEXA, what is today's weather forecast?" Both of these issues could probably be fixed by a software update, but no sight of one yet. (3) I have a smartphone with a talk and text package and no data. I can only connect my smartphone to the internet through my home WiFi or another WiFi hotspot. Once I download the app when my phone is connected to the internet, will the phone app then communicate with the OMNI? (4) Finally, many are reporting battery failures after only a few months, if the battery is exposed to extreme temperatures, either very hot, or very cold. Thanks, I hope you or your commenters can answer these questions.

I bout one but returned it as it only records left and right for only 10 seconds. If it would record in the position you chose until you moved it again, I would've kept it. If your going to record an interaction with a police officer, 10 seconds to the left or right just doesn't suffice. I couldn't care less about selfies. Otherwise, a great camera.

Hi Rebecca. I connected the 70 Mai same brand as the one shown. Any idea why it's killing my battery. I disconnected it last night to prove it's not the battery. My battery was ok. Any suggestions in the settings please. I know my yellow and red wire twisted together to one fuse and the grounded. Another thing I have another dash cam hardwired. Thanks

yes, easy to disconnect. There is a wire connection right at the top of the camera, just like plugging in your cell phone, you can just disconnect really easy.

Shoot emergency video isn't needed everytime, you just need to say it if you had an accident and the dashcam didn't kept the footage (it will, trust me I had an accident and my 70mai dashcam did register the video) :)

You need to go through the app and scroll, it's in there to ENABLE the parking part...There is a way -- that is in the app under settings.... just dig into it, it has so many features...

hmmm, keep going through the menu...It was much bigger than I thought, so if you watch the video, there is that part for the parking. I have to say the parking on mine is working. Just last night, as I got into my car, the Omni spoke to me as I entered the car and said it had detected suspicious motion at night around my car, which was accurate.

9:17 time mark: Collision Detection. People may wonder what good will be done by turning on Collision Detection. I mean, isn't it too late for the detection system to turn on the video recording AFTER the collision has taken place? The answer is that the 70Mai Dash Cam Omni has a constantly running video buffer. When a collision is detected by the camera's G-sensors, the last 5 seconds (BEFORE the collision) is automatically saved plus an additional 10 seconds thereafter. Similar to how your iPhone captures live action photos, capturing a couple of seconds before you squeeze the shutter button.

Yes, it will film for 1 min. Then if you park and someone hits it, it is rolling, and will back roll 1 minute. Great design.
