I have been working on myself for a long time now and I have grown a lot. The thing that I realize it there are going to be days where u will have to force yourself to do stuff and that is also self care. The idea of self care is usually linked to you feeling good but once you start it all u will realize that you will have a lot more bad days than good ones but once u push urself eventually it will all work out.
@amelieclare12582 жыл бұрын
I had always only heard of self care in terms of painting nails, baths, skincare etc. But for me that never worked but it was surface level for me. I found more deeply meaningful things more restorative for me like being creative, learning and quiet time. The activities that help me feel the best are painting, reading, journaling, spending time to do nothing, eating healthy and working out.

Self care is important but also hard in the hustle society we live in. Burnout can be what can kill our soul and spirit.
@thisakyaabeykoon72942 жыл бұрын
Hey, thank you sooo much... I needed this, specially this week. I honestly don't know who else to talk about this to cz you seem to be going through pretty much similar things. I'm in med school and I barely get enough sleep. I have a burn out like every other week while trying to maintain a good average. If I do take the time to rest and treat myself, my grades just go down and I loose my attention span. I honestly don't know how to deal with it cz it's like, if I work myself to the point of exhaustion, I get good grades but my social life and mental health deteriorate and also physical I guess cz I don't sleep much, but if I do try to take care of my sleep and atleast the me tal health aspect, my studies go down. I'm literally just tired of feeling this way but I honestly don't know what to do. Sorry for the rant seesion
@ailuros47572 жыл бұрын
hey, youre not alone. im in med school too and i had the same issue.. first of all i decided what i want to do with my life, what kind of person i want to be. i didnt want to be someone who always studies and gets the highest grades because i realised i can have grades close enough to those even when i dont study all the time... thats because resting and taking care of yourself is actually a part of school life. if i study always and dont pay attention to myself enough, dont socialise, dont do my workouts, i find myself in severe depression. and if the opposite happens, i still dont feel accomplished because my grades go down and i feel like im not in control of my school life. if ure studying way too much, it may be because you think you need to learn everything in the textbooks or proffessors lecture notes, i was like this and one of med students i follow on social media made me realise this. everything should be in balance otherwise you would feel exhausted and not enough. we should take care of ourselves enough and we still can study enough. one is missing without the other. being balanced and feeling the happiness it brings you is *way easier* than focusing on one aspect and feeling exhausted and depressed, from my experiences. take care

I really felt that part about the IB program. All of my classes except for one was chosen for me because of what the program required and the coursework was really intense and I couldn't keep up with it which led to me breaking down and my grades plummeted that year and my GPA took a hit. I ended up moving which meant I got to transfer to a school that didn't have the program and it was so much better for me even if my mom was upset about it but it felt like I could finally breathe without having to worry so much about the workload.
