I worked in a call center that primarily catered to hospitals and high end medical offices. The callers were stressed out and not feeling well. The clients were overworked and sometimes profane to us, but immediately kind, when we put their patient through on the phone. During covid, I ended up in hospital with chest pains. The insurance provided by my employer didn't pay a single dollar . What a heafty bill. I'd had enough. I quit. Now! I do banquets 1 day a week to get me out of the house. And the rest of the week I list on ebay and poshmark. Thanks for the inspiration .

That is such a terrible experience. Because somebody else may have had a worse experience, doesn't mean yours wasn't bad. Thanks for sharing your story. I love your advice of not believing negative things about yourself just because somebody else says them. I wish somebody had told me that when I was younger. I remember and relate to the line in the movie "Pretty Woman", where Julia Robert's character says something along the lines of 'it is easier to believe the bad stuff' (about yourself). I tell my daughters (and often have to remind myself) that when somebody else says bad things about another person, it is a reflection of the character of the person speaking and not the person being spoken about. There are people who also get a rise out of tearing other people down and this guy definitely seems like one of those. It seems like he was bitter and jaded and just couldn't believe that anybody could have a sweet, bubbly personality without being fake.

I have to admit as a 53 year old hearing you tell this story I first thought oh this was long ago and imagine my absolute shock when you said this was recent years.. which makes sense as you are so young. I’m so sorry you had to endure that and how it scarred you. Thankful you are working through it. You are amazing and wonderful and worthy. Never forget that! Keep on being you. ❤️ I enjoy your thrifting hauls. Going to take some tips to get some listings done myself. Have a huge pile to be listed.

I’m so sorry to hear about your first out of college job 😢 that’s horrible! I have a history of health issues, and past work experiences… let’s just say retail and continuous leaving early because of a flare up doesn’t sit well with some people. Anywho… the last office job I held, I had the best boss and co-workers (admin assistant at our church). My boss was patient and kind, I know others aren’t blessed by such people. I left that job to stay home with my now 2 year old, and I have taken reselling on FULL TIME 🙌🏻 I’m thankful and blessed to be able to do this, with a very supportive husband. One comment about “bullies” and toxic people in the work environment, what they say about you and so to you says more about them and their character than it does about you. I had my own share a few jobs, both positive and negative, but having to remind myself took the stink away, even just a little bit.

I totally understand that too! I’m sorry about your health issues; I know how hard it is sometimes to deal with that. I’m glad you had a great last experience, and that you’re supported by your husband in what you’re doing! ❤️ Thank you for you kind words, friend!

Other people or employees will often collude with a bully, because they are afraid themselves, or they will receive special treatment or privileges if they do this. And yes, your story is very familiar to me. I had everything from anxiety attacks to health problems from working like this for many years. Eventually, I became a whistleblower (extremely stressful). The “mean” person quit, and about a year later I retired. I will NEVER work under those conditions again. God Bless You! And for anyone else, don’t hang on for years. Move on! I wish I had!

I also worked in an office with a male who wanted to work in the dark and to make matters worse he would moan and groan and make sounds that I was afraid would be misconstrued by someone coming into the outer office. I am sorry you were treated that way. I am sure you stuck it out much longer than I would have!

So something I've kinda picked up on is that when someone paints a target on you or see any signs of weakness EVERYONE will take shots. IDK whats wrong with people but i def see that in the world. Also, something I witnessed is people like you who are bubbly and full of sunshine, your happiness bothers people SMDH. Like they are so miserable in their lives they want yours to match theirs. Keep your head up hun and don't let anyone steal your sunshine. Smile in spite of them and their sour faces. Sorry you went thru that.

You my friend have proven that you are so much above them. Stay your beautiful self always. You are a breath of fresh air and a true ray of sunshine. Big hugs. Lynn in 🇨🇦

Toxic work environments affect you in so many ways...some that don't even surface until you speak them out loud to another person. So sorry you had to go through that BS! I can't even imagine someone not liking you because you have a bubbly personality??! I left a very toxic work environment to resell full time and it has been wonderful for my mental health and my family's health. I will NEVER go back! It is crazy how many similarities there are between our two stories. You're right, it feels good to be seen and heard. Love your videos and starting my day with "hello my friends!" because it reminds me of my kindergarten teaching years! Keep being your GENUINE self and doing you because you're great!

Thank you for sharing! Much hugs to you. Listened to this while doing my full time job. Reselling has made me realize I need to start to make myself successful instead of working hard to make others money. I do a lot of adult-sitting at my job and after 18 years it’s getting tiresome res Pliny has given me a new outlet and possible way to leave my job. My boss is great but the dynamics have changed and just don’t care for it anymore 😊

Thanks so much for sharing! I’m currently at my job right now and I do feel stuck and don’t enjoy it. I have great coworkers and great benefits so it’s not bad, but a majority of my coworkers get to work from home and I don’t after asking a a lot so I feel stuck. I know I need to apply for other jobs to get out, but it sometimes feels impossible. A lot of that is in my head so thank you for sharing your story: I know I’m not alone!

So sorry you went through that experience. I had a bad experience with a coworker at one of my jobs when I was younger and I was in shock. She went off yelling at me and said some hurtful things but I quickly learned not to take on other peoples problems. They are the ones with the issues and just don’t have a clue how to deal with their problems so they take it out on others. You are awesome. Keep up the great work and continue to do what you enjoy. If more people did that there would be more happier people around.

I started this job where I thought the boss was introducing me to people, but he was actually going around showing me to people. One of his buddies over heard me telling a black lady how there's a disproportionate amount of minority people in our industry. He tried to punish/shame me for my opinion by forming up a mob against me and getting other companies to blackball me out of the industry.

So sorry you went through, that. I had kinda an opposite experience. I had one co-worker creating a hostile environment in which I went to my manager (she didn't believe me) and HR but nothing developed. Finally, she took time off without notice at Christmas (I work Coronate retail so that wasn't good) and she was asked to just leave when she decided to come back. Finally my manger believed me in which I told her. She was a nasty person telling lies about me and others. Just nasty.

But it’s over now and we’re diffinately going to be ok. While you were talking to us I was looking at your clothing. You have beautiful clothing no wonder you sell so much. I started in September and learning so much. So I’m hanging in there and trying to learn from all of you reseller’s like yourself l. Ok have to go to bed. Thanks. Sonia

Okay....so I'm only up to timestamp 13.56...OMG...first of all if one ever cries because of work it's time to quit. If you wake up at 3 a.m. stressed..it's time to quit. When we are in our 20s most of us take so much garbage from others because we don't understand what's going on. As a single mom in my 40s I took abuse when I worked in Austin, TX (a house of worship (I"m not religious...they treated my coworkers abysmally and then it was my turn), a well known non-profit where my boss yelled at me in front of others (finally quit when others pointed out how badly I was treated) and then at Univ of Texas where some egomaniac professors thought they were the king/queen of England. One of my coworkers actually cried one day. It's not just the corporate world. One would think that people would be more kind at NGOs, houses of worship etc but they aren't. I will say in my early days working in NYC I had the best bosses and nobody copped an attitude. Don't take garbage from anyone!!
