I think riding it up slowly is the best option. I feel you have a little more control with the bike under you for balance purposes.I think your strapping placement is also very good. Very good explanation and camera work. I'm sure people transporting their bikes appreciate all the effort and knowledgable thought you have put into this. Thank you my friend. peace

Thank you Eric! you are too kind my friend! personally i totally agree with you about riding the bike up, it's much easier, but some might not feel comfortable with that method and just in case the bike is too low to clear the top of the ramp. Thank you Eric for your support brother!

@@ontherebel11 the way to keep it from bottoming out when you load, place a piece of wood ( I use 2 one foot pieces of a 4x4 ) at the point where the ramp hits the ground. By placing the wood there it changes the loading angle giving you more clearance.

Outstanding video, thank you!! I’m definitely using the 5x9 trailer next time because the smaller one dedicated to motorcycles seemed too light, was extremely noisy and bounced all over the place. Really appreciate you taking the time to make this video.

Thank you for your kind words sir! If one is planning a longer haul, the 5x9 with suspension is the way to go! I'm happy that you found the video helpful! 👍

Great video, sir, but It is better to place straps so as not to pull down on bike suspension and cause issues, especially on long trips. It can be done on these type trailers, and I have done it multiple times. See videos on straping on lower points below suspension.

Thank you for your kind feedback and suggestion, i've tried both ways, but this is my preferred method for the rebel as i don't have confidence in the strength of the fender mount tbh, but i don't have any data to support my decision, just a gut feeling from handling the fender braces when i removed disassembled it.🍻🍻🍻

Excellent Demo. I can never do the walk up to the trailer parking. Sitting on the bike I am more comfortable in rolling it up or down.
@ontherebel112 жыл бұрын
Thank you Amer, some bike / trailer ramp combinations don't provide enough clearance, so I had to learn early on to push the bike up so that the oil pan doesn't hit, with the Uhaul trailers It looks like I won't have to worry about that on the rebel! 🙏

I don't recommend compressing the suspension as the straps can loosen when you hit a good bump and the suspension compresses more. Also if you bottom out suspension completely with the straps you can damage the fork seals. I always strap the highest part of the lower section of the forks so the suspension is fee to move with the trailer and straps can't loosen this way. I always run a strap through the front wheel, loop it around the tire and out (another one through the rear wheel) that apply downwards tension and keep the wheel from moving. I leave the kickstand down just in case. I always use all my straps and I have a lot of them.....better safe than sorry.

I'm really sorry about that, Several of us have struggled to find touch up paint with no luck, i got some pens off amazon for tiny scratches but i don't think they will work for the tank. this is what a few of us got based on the recommendation of a friend in the Facebook group www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00JSAE0ZY/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o07_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00JSAE00Y/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o06_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 www.amazon.com/gp/product/B072LT4HCZ/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o06_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

@@Tkh21209 right, not too much pull down on the suspension, if you pull down the suspension all the way down, you risk blowing a seal. Easy does it.

U-Haul won't rent motorcycle trailers for one way trips. You have to return it to the store it came from. How stupid is that????
@ontherebel112 жыл бұрын
It's so annoying isn't it?! But you can take the 5x9 one way I believe, it costs a little more though...
@jeffh33333 Жыл бұрын
Totally agree it makes no sense. BUT, if you can get one, they have a one-way utility trailer with the motorcycle wheel chalk in front, and the ramp on this one is better than on their motorcycle trailer.

Don’t listen to his directions Allways put tension on the suspension otherwise the bike will works its way free. The way you showed in the video is fine keep doing it that way. 👍🏼 keeping the bike straight with pulling tension front and putting the back straps pulling towards the front is the RIGHT way. @ontherebel11
