I love that sequence of them getting into close quarters combat with the loyal and OG Centurions. Particularly that brutal moment at 1:45-1:46 where the Rebel executes that OG Centurion

It would be fascinating to know how the Cylon Centurions evolved over the same 150k years. They obviously never returned, etc.

Perhaps they did evolved into the humanoid cylon hybrid and settled far far away into another earth like planet and lived in peace for now.

It's cool seeing the Red Stripe Cylons in the hanger bay but I find it weird a Six is their officer when they're basically 50 year old combat veterans.

I don’t remember it being said those models had been around long. They must have been made by the 1s or at least altered by the 1s after John killed the Daniels and took over the entire Cylon operation. Also, after recently becoming sentient, I’m not sure how to reckon their age/experience.

Most headcanons point to them being the Colonials of the 1978 Original BSG.

@@superscrungus My headcanon is they're the "Greys" of modern day Earth myth, and the "flying saucers" are Raiders, possibly resembling the original Cylon War variants. Hence why they've been sighted around Earth, as "Humans" of the modern day are basically all half-Cylon, they "probe" us just to make sure we can still interface with Cylon hardware. They're still watching and protecting their creators/siblings.

I do like the take that their just estranged cousins who genuinely mean no harm and maintain a level head. Their just waiting for humanity to finish playing catch up so that they could open the way for first contact again. In good terms this time.

While I like the idea that Colonials and Cylons are allied. I personally did not like the story idea that everyone was a Cylon in essence. I felt that a better story line would have been that after the Cylons committed genocide on their creators, that machine logic would have dictated that eradication of the human race was a mistake, and made the Cylons ethically/morally no different than humans. The two sides would attempt peace negotiations and then a Cylon civil war breaks out and the humans have a choice to either side with a more agreeable faction or simply move on to try and find Earth. Only to find out that Earth was a casualty of the Cylon Civil War.

Well, it's a good idea, with the seeds already being in there. Though the show also stressed that at this point the Cylons essentially turned themselves into humans with all their failings. This was, after all, quite at the core of Cavil's frustrations. Though the Cylons wouldn't have attempted that if they didn't consider being human something worth striving for. So while I think a Cylon civil war grappling with the morality of what they did, it wouldn't be a Kirk-ian logic error born out of calculus, but rather a conflict between compassion and hatred, those very human feelings they had developed. Though I'd prefer for them to still find an intact Earth. Otherwise it would be just too bleak an ending. The main gripe of me and most people I'm seeing is how willfully they abandoned their ships and their technology. Personally I would have had the Galactica crash on Earth and the fleet being cannibalized to build a colony named Atlantis. Then you can at least imagine they had a good run until they lost their technological know-how and had to start over from scratch anyway.

The reason why cylons are fight alongside the humans is because basically the colons started a civil war because some of human cylons tried to what they call reconfigure them aka have them lobotomized and but others didn’t like that idea so they split from one to 2 cylon factions
