Actually the bar end bolt is M6-1.0 Socket Cap Screw. Stock length is around 25mm. You need maybe 40mm to accommodate the washers with plenty of thread grab. I got 45mm. Extra length is okay because the female end inside the bar is open ended. Easy solution for bar end mirror installation. Thank you for the tip. I think you should excerpt and publish (maybe with separate intro) a shorter vid on just the final bar end mirror mount solution and mirror hole cap mention.

They changed the airhawk from highly elastic neoprene rubber to some kind of stiff plastik. You can even hear it cracking. Airhawk sold the neopren rubber tec to a medical company and not really communicating it to the motorcycle customers. If you get an old one and compare them you see a WORLD of difference. The old one is really like an additional shock absorber.

Hi QuasiMotard, I'm having a hard time finding the longer screw that came with your kit. My hardware store guy looked at my screw and said I need a 1/4-28 hex head 1 1/2- 1 3/4 bolt. Is that true? If so, do you know where I can find two of them? Thank you.

I had some spare 35-40mm length stainless bolts from another kit that I used on my Rebel. You can take one to the hardware store to match it up to be sure about the thread pitch (might be 1.5mm pitch). I definitely recommend getting stainless-steel bolts if your store has them in stock. @QuasiMotard3 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the feedback, and greetings from the USA! The DCT might be "senior citizen friendly", but it can really hustle when pressed! I've been riding the bike conservatively during the break-in period, so the DCT shifts early to keep the RPM's low. I'm out of the break-in miles now, so I'm starting to abuse it a little more. The DCT does a very good job at maintaining proper RPM's and shift curves based on how you are riding at the moment (adaptive over the past minute or two). The convenience of not shifting gears or feathering the clutch in stop-and-go city traffic is amazing... it's like riding a scooter with none of the negative effects of a CVT. Cheers! 👍 --QM

@QuasiMotard3 жыл бұрын
Yes, the AirHawk eliminated the hotspots and fatigue caused by the original seat. The key to using the AirHawk cushions is only inflating them very slightly. They work best with just enough air to fill in the gaps, but still allow your sit bones to reach the seat underneath. That gives just enough support without feeling like you're sitting on a balloon. 😉👍 --QM

Another question, which do you prefer, the Ryker or the Rebell?
@QuasiMotard2 жыл бұрын
They are completely different animals with different riding styles, so that really depends on where I'm going and how long I'll be in the saddle. Short answer: I'll usually jump on the Rebel before the Ryker for most riding scenarios. The Ryker is great for city riding, occasional backroad blasts, and riding in inclement weather. However, it's not a good touring machine. The Ryker's fuel economy is very poor at ~30 MPG, so nearly any motorcycle will be a better touring companion. My Ryker's handling and alignment problems have always been a sore spot for me, so I don't enjoy riding it longer distances... it's just too exhausting to constantly course-correct and wrestle the heavy steering. The Rebel DCT is a fantastic commuter and light-duty touring bike, but it also has its drawbacks for touring. The rear suspension is under-damped and tends to wallow too much, and the footpeg position doesn't provide a good knee/hip angle for long touring comfort. The Rebel's DCT is amazing for commuting or touring, and it can be pressed into sport riding when the mood arises. The biggest contrast between the machines is that I can relax and enjoy the ride on the Rebel, and that's not possible on the Ryker. The Ryker requires CONSTANT attention to maintain a line, and that detracts from the joy of riding after a while. Cheers! 😉👍 --QM
