I’m at the stage of forgetting her. I care about her, but if it was healthy we’d be together still. If she wants to bounce around that’s on her. I need to process things, I cant imaging touching and sleeping with anyone else it just seems unnatural. I need to heal and process my emotions, and work on my flaws. Another human can’t help me with that.

my ex was already talking to his current girlfriend a month before we broke up. she knew about me and knew we were still together and still proceeded to talk to him. he broke up with me and within 1 month they made it official. she must enjoy being the rebound. 3 years wasted

My ex and his rebound are together for almost 6mos now. They moved in together 3mos after my ex left me and our daughter. We’ve been together for 10yrs. I guess he loves the girl that much for him to give almost everything to her like car, phone, laptop etc. By the way she is half his age. So sad but I have to stay strong for our daughter.

Not everything is as it seems on the surface with rebounds, they SHOW that they are happy but it can be untrue at times

@@Viewtiful_Gamer I can confirm this. My ex is still with his rebound (they have a month) and started flirting 3 days after he broke up with me. She actually was the one who kissed him first and according to him "it was just to fast, I don't know what happened, it was wierd". He still contacts me even though he's with his rebound, he told me he feels their connection is different, that he doesn't visualize her as a "girlfriend/partner" and that he looks at her more like a "best friend".

@@caripescadr533 I appreciate the support honestly. I ended up finding out my ex was writing about how much they love me and confessed they didn’t know how to say it and pushed me away (due to avoidant attachment because feelings are mutual) so I’m not sure what to do.

@@caripescadr533 her rebound doesn’t even pay her much attention supposedly. He just “plays video games all day.” But I think she’s with him just to keep appearances but isn’t genuinely happy as she was with me.

To me, three months would be extremely quick to recover or heal from a significant relationship. That seems like a very low average.

I think it has more to do with the emotional work they've done. They might have "moved on" from you but if they are still feeling that void they will experience similar issues in the new relationship. If they don't want to be alone they will romanticize the new person and ignore any signs of uncompatability.

@@sml5386 it definitely has to do with the emotional work. That’s part of healing. If you don’t process the breakup and heal, you really haven’t moved on. Instead, you just transfer all of that to the new relationship, and the new relationship becomes a way of avoiding and distracting from the discomfort of processing and growing. The unresolved emotions and patterns and baggage will come out. I don’t even think it always matters if the other person is “incompatible”-the impetus for the relationship is not healthy. My ex is extremely avoidant and broke up after 1.5 yrs while he was emotionally shutdown on the phone. He could barely have any conversation. A few months later, he was already focused on someone else, as if everything is great.

@@Viewtiful_Gamer I agree-most rebounds are a way of forcing oneself to “move on,” but without doing the work or healing, so it’s not genuine. I was just surprised that he said 3-6 mos was the average time it took to move on. I guess it depends on the relationship, but it just seems like a very low average for a significant relationship.

@@beckymusgrove4784 I agree with that too. I didn’t start healing from mine from February to August 2021, only to find out she still pines over me but wants to prove it can work with someone else even tho he ignores her lol. Worlds a crazy place.

If your ex mantains contact with you or gets back in...then thats a really strong sign that things are not going great...i know it from own experience...this unhappiness is going on very soon in that rebound...so how the hell is going to work...it cant...be patient...work focus only on your self..do no try to interfiere..date other people...be indifferent or go NC...if you had a solid relantionship...your ex will return... You really want it back? I didnt

I went on 2 dates with a man who was separated he talked about his ex, he wanted to meet my family straight away and pushed for sex. Luckily I came to my senses and ended it but said later on if he’s single we can get in touch. Anyway few months later I see he’s with a new girl (NOT his wife) he’s met her family and they seem like happy couple. I’m not sure if I saved myself being the rebound and she’s now the rebound or what! But it’s made me question the whole thing

my ex got into a relationship with somebody she knew since she was 12 years within three week . also found out he was engaged to someone and had 4 kids together with someone else . he does have a criminal record . dwi , resisting arrest and vandalism of property . they got married within four months and moved in with each other very fast before the marriage ,

Has anyones rebound went through these stages and actually try coming back to you. Esp if you were married and they asked for a divorce? I been with my girl 17 yrs. Married 4 2 daughters. Still live together currently. She got all of her own accounts and own phone and has been cold and so disrespectful. If i get near her she balls up like she doesn't want to touch me. Alot of weird behaviors

My ex is in a rebound after being with me for 4 years, we met after a while and he teared up and told me he still loves me and he couldnt love her, he even kissed me , he said he cant breakup with her suddenly because she loves him (they've been together for less than 4 months) and told me if he ever came back to me he will never let me go again and he will propose , he even told me "you're it", but after that nothing happend , it's been one month since this happened , and they're still together and she seems rlly happy on social media sharing quotes that he is the one and they're right for each other , she even beczme friends with his friends and family on instagram and facebook , what does this mean ? are they going to continue to be together ? will it fail eventually? and will he come back ?

Even if seems impossible they do return some take years but you shouldn’t hold on just Because of wording from him keep moving try to do your part of healing why hold on when he’s having fun and for you to be a back up plan if something goes wrong!! You want to be a priority not a second choice!! Unfortunately that’s reality and you have to accept it!!🙏🧐

He also flirts with me, is very concerned about what’s going on in my life and about my wellbeing. I remain mysterious, let him contact me, don’t ignore him but don’t respond immediately. When I do respond, I get immediate replies. Seems he contacts me when she isn’t around. Break up came out of no where. He said his heart wasn’t in it. 28 days later he was reaching out to me and the following month he met her. She moved in 3 months into their relationship. Not sure what he’s doing here. I have given the perception that I have moved on with my life and the more mysterious I am, the more he seems interested. He’s been reaching g out more frequently. Not sure if he’s comparing or assessing?
