I also had a 68 Caprice Estate Wagon. 327 inch. 275 horsepower, 12-bolt. Hideaway headlights full power everything including top fender mounted turn signal, high beam, headlight indicators. A BEAST.....

I had a 1968 Impala with the 327, 4 BBL, 400 Turbo trans, disc brakes, 15” wheels four-door. Was a great sleeper.

The reason the accessorie.holes aren't drilled is because it's a 68, the alternator is on the left side, and used a different bracket than a 69

The pistons are .030 over so ya I'm sure the lock was bored.

Did that motor have the large journal steel crank in it (4672/1130 forgings)? I know the 68' 327 trucks came with large steel, not sure about the impala's.
