Rebuild of Sculpture 40 - A Rolling Ball Sculpture

This sculpture was commissioned for World of Marbles in Tasmania in November 2012. It operated daily for nearly all of that time, entertaining the visitors to the store. I recently had the opportunity to rebuild the sculpture. I added a few new pieces of track, new marbles and a nice shiny new layer of powder coat. Matte black was the obvious choice.
The sculpture features loops, two ball jumps, serpentine 2.0, multiball, tipping arm switch, single tipping arm, tall spiral, and a large flat spiral.
It measures 1200mm round by 300mm deep and uses 25mm glass marbles.

Wow!!!! Amazing! If you could get some vaseline glass (uranium glass) marbles with an UV light, it would stand out and illuminate the track they roll on, would be so cool!!!!

Wich iron wire are you using ? Could you give me a website or a specific product please ? I cant find a wire that is flexible and does keep the shape... :(

David, Have you ever considered combining UV illumination with your art form, using black wire for the sculpture with a black backdrop, and flourescent balls that would glow brightly as they move helter-skelter down the sculpture as though suspended in mid air? You almost achieve that with #40 illustrated above. Just a thought.

Looking really schmick in its 2021 matt black!! And great marble colour choice, Dave. Shows up lots of features. The jump into the basket is always one of my favourites. The three-way split video at the end is super and two more features here I loved ... the marbles snaking up the lift - wow! Looks like a green mamba!! Plus what I call "butterflies" ... randomly fluttering around right at the end.
