I make it a goal to never criticize ones efforts in repairing broken items in the field. I know exactly how difficult it can be. Their goal is to make the tool or machine last just a little bit longer to complete a job. And I know as with most anything else, if its been patched up, its good enough until the next time it breaks.

Ironically, we had exactly the same problem with a post-hole borer. All it would do is polish the earth!

Yeah ok.... as I leave I parked down the road and hid in the woods next to the site and recorded the rig jumping up and down... yeah doing your job... But hey I had a ball repairing them and they always gave gift cards on the holidays! I had a pulse welder with .45 wire. I turned the pulse off for my first pass and then turned it back on and ran really hot for the fill passes.
