I wouldn't start revving the nads off a recently rebuilt engine. In a previous video you advocated letting a bike warm up slowly as there was a rev range indicator on the clock . I'd also add a touch more 2 stroke oil to the mixture,so the barrel liner and rings get more lubrication than normal

The steering looked a little stiff. When you fit new steering bearings you're meant to torque down the stem nut to 25nm, steer side to side, loosen and then torque to 7nm. Also the ugly penny washer on the exhaust at 14:30 could be replaced with a better looking drilled washer. Bolt make packs of 10 that are about £5. Sanding the paint off where the core for the coil mounts won't change anything as it doesn't earth through the core. You should be able to run the bike with the coil hanging loose
@BikesofRye2 ай бұрын
Yep it is too stiff - will sort it for the first ride
@Tig_Weldor2 ай бұрын
Ignore everything @Jsmith19858 said. Some aftermarket exhausts use a penny washer with the large rubber bush. Just google CR125 images and you’ll see. That coil does ground through the coil mount bracket. It doesn’t have a separate earth wire. Both the black/yellow and the green wire go to the CDI unit.
@JSmith198582 ай бұрын
@@Tig_Weldor scratch that I'm wrong on the CR125. I've just found a wiring diagram and you're right it does on those. The penny washer was a comment on aesthetics and how they could be improved. You should be in less of a rush to tell people they're wrong, certainly when you yourself are wrong
@JSmith198582 ай бұрын
@@Tig_Weldor actually if it has the two wires, the green wire will complete the circuit to earth via the green wire through the generator, so yes it should actually be able to run without the coil attached to the bike and not earth through the mounting bar. I was right, there is no need to remove the paint and the wiring diagram is misleading. I'll video my CR tomorrow running with and without the coil attached to the frame

The top of the spark plug has a threaded ferrule screw it off and the plug will fit. Drill the hole that lines up on the silencer to the size needed for the rubber mounting, cut the other hole off and file to a neat radius. A definite lack of oil coming out the exhaust especially for a first start!!, don't take this the wrong way do you realise the oil in the engine only lubricates the gearbox? crank and piston lubricated by pre mix with the fuel. Sorry if you know this just don't want you to seize the motor.

Re the plug/plug cap - does the 'collar' on the top of the plug unscrew? Some plug caps need the collar on, some need it off and just clip to the threaded core. Plus, I would advise getting either an Xacto modelling knife or at least a single sided razor blade to trim off all the bits of bright green gasket sticking out from between the joints - it will make the work look much more professional. You've done a great job with it, but those gaskets shout 'Ha'porth of tar!!!'. Good work, fella!
