@philtucker1224Ай бұрын
@@jasonh8470 Not carrying out the frame repair and just replacing the whole frame front to back would always be an option but it would mean taking the truck off the road for a long time , removing cab, engine, suspension and wiring looms, vin plate etc etc. (probably three to four times the price of this repair). - I don’t think Yuri’s shop would want to do that type of work as they need to keep their repair vehicles rolling and mobile around the shop whenever possible as it has a lot of shared facilities and tooling for several vehicles to be worked on each day and stored out in the front yard when not.

3:21 Please add braces to the legs on your jack stands. Either wrap 1" flat bar around all 3 legs or put a piece of plate steel on or near the bottom to prevent twisting or side loading the legs. I know you have the 4th center support leg but nothing is preventing them from twisting or spreading apart at all. Also maybe weld 'hallndles on the adjusting nuts so you can turn them under load without a wrench. Other than that i like them & you'll be really happy being able to fine adjust them with the screw threads. Your jacks are very strong. For the future and if you trust the strength of your weld. I'd always recommend a 3 legged jack over 4 as where I work, the ground is never perfectly leveled. A 4 legged jack would wobble on a ground that isn't perfectly flat.

Could you not cut or separate the frame at the factory joints . The frames are done by jigs or computer at the factory so if you measured the original all you would have to do is transfer the marks on to the replacement and weld . It is a lot more work to cut or grind out the factory welds but the job would have looked much more professional . Also maybe get a licensed welder to weld on the frame not the person who made the studs ! Guess I should have watched the whole video I did the frame on my older ford at the joints and thought you were just going to cut and join it.
