Rebuilding my friend's BMW E30 M50 Turbo Drift Car! He's a great driver and we'll have him back on track soon. This episode covers pulling the engine and figuring out what went wrong so we can avoid the issue next go around.

You know what kills bearings is heat man, generally if those temps get too high, from wide open runs and little to no air.. Like drift cars.. it’s cactus.. unless you have decent oil cooling ect.. I run 20psi all day in my M50B25 NV, the weakest link is the cast pistons (as you probably know) But with forged pistons and nothing else you can go to 700hp +, their pretty stout motors. I’m sure this will be good to you, clean that oil pickup really good, and wire tie or weld your oil pump nut.. goodluck ✌️

We find the failure after making this video, the "upgraded" seems legit garage setup with the oil chain tensioner put too much load on the oil pump bearing and it failed. The oil pump was completely locked up after inspecting everything

Ohhhh nooooooooo! Yea I know what you mean… Damn it, yea that’ll do it.. shit, atleast you found it, better than scratching your heads… here in Australia we get pretty hot temps so it’s fairly common to see rod bearings get eaten away.. Oh well look forward to seeing it going again 👌
