I agree, how can modern cars be classed as environmentally friendly when you have to replace the complete dash, and all 4 seatbelts after a bump, progress? I don’t think so
@Charlie_Crown10 ай бұрын
All because people, apparently, prefer to have that airbag upholstered over, whereas a flush bolt in unit, like the steering wheel airbag, would be far more practical. However, there's no money to be syphoned away from punters using commonsense practical solutions.....
@misterlogick10 ай бұрын
I guess you also have to consider what percentage of these vehicles will ever have their airbags activated. Hopefully it will not be many (less than 1% ??) in which case it is not so important overall.

Rob, have you ever heard or seen videos of british car industrial? It's well known that BLMC operated with a lot of noise from bolts and nuts who wasn't fastened. Some cars come to Denmark with all the parts in the luckage room, that the manufactorer didn't get time to install. You could really get a better car if you'd spend a couple of hours with spanners and screwdrivers. Those where the days. No computers, no airbags and rear wheel traction. You'd really learned how to drive on icy roads ! 😄

Again great video - I mentioned on the last video that if you look inside the rear centre arm rest you might find the remote control for the rear entertainment as that is where they are kept/stored - also when checking the codes, because of the canbus networks one fault can set off a number of others due to the next module not getting the correct messages so you think there is a lot of DTC’s when in fact it isn’t as bad as you think but you do need everything plugged in and then work through the faults… Hope that makes sense. You also have the Transfer case module also under the centre console but under the armrest end which is also a git…..nice job though boys

You should be able to reset the air bag light on the diagnostic toool. What you need to do though is go into service functions rather than DTC clear. Then what you can do is Find SRS and reset the crash event data….. just clearing fault codes won’t clear the module. Try it with the Autel I managed to reset crash data on a LR Discover with an Autel. Just make sure you use service functions not health check or DTC clear etc
@robotstar510 ай бұрын
In theory there should be no loose or missing fasteners as each one is inserted/torqued by a powered tool connected to a computer which will stop the assembly line if it detects a loose/missing fastener, the line will only re-start when all fasteners are accounted for or a supervisor over rides the process.

That did look a bit scary at first glance but although you haven't done one of these before you know what is involved so taking photos is the best thing to do and it paid off with two days to spare 😂😂.
