This brings back do many memories, I used to work for Homesteader building the Aqua Chalet's. I did a mix of interior work, trim, cabinets, doors. When you were taking it apart the memories cave flooding in

Nice job. I have a 30 ft Party Hut. Roof leaked. Tracker ( clowns) used lag screws to hold railing on. No sealant. All leaked. I stripped old roofing off and glued down commercial rubber roofing membrane. I left 4 inches extra sticking out all around . No roof penetration at all.Pulled membrane down all around for instant drip edge. Indoor outdoor carpet on top keeps sun off of black membrane roofing. zero leaks. No place for it to leak.

Could you notice the extra weight on the pontoons using all of that wood? I’m just starting my build from scratch and I’m concerned how much weight it will hold.
@backyardboatbuilders64173 жыл бұрын
No difference... Glen-L has plans for cabins you can use on a pontoon boats. They show how to build light. We used these plans for the basic build. We did not use metal side walls. Also the wood we used was very light and made strong by how it was built.

We are having a lot of problems with the roof soffit rotting. We pull out in March and if we have to redo it we’re thinking of installing a roof drip edge around it. It’s 55 feet long and 24 feet wide so it will be a huge job we are not looking forward to since we are 63 and 58 and do all the work ourselves with the exception of the pontoons and the outdrive. We will see....your job looks very good, excellent work! Nena California

Great job I’m Re-doing a houseboat exactly like the one you started with I was wondering if you still have the original windows? They are very hard to find. I don’t know yet but I hope I don’t have to do a complete rebuild like you did but this was an excellent demonstration if I do.

No I do not. That is why we replaced them

FWIW and I imagine not much . . . . I love to watch your builds and rebuilds but I HATE your music selections ! Could ya maybe find something with a little more listening appeal ? You know , Johnny Horton , Areosmith , Zappa or the Who , even Hank Jr. will do ! Got any Merl ?
