My toon is light and sits level and pretty much level at cruising speed. I learned that fuel consumption is much less at a lower cruising speed. Great looking camper quiet too. I'd have to have one wee window next to the helm and maybe a rear view mirror right forward of said window. Toons are great Lots of creative options to build. Great job, love it.

That's a nice little boat buddy. I like how the roof slants down in the back to shed water. Flat roofs are a pain. It launches easy and loads easy. I need to mount some pole holders on the rails today like you've done good job!

I'd move the helm station to the forward section of the cabin. That will give you better visibility and will move more weight to the front, since you are sitting lower in the stern.

I sure it been suggest perhaps moving the wheel more forward to open more space. I believe a wheel on the roof maybe a wheelhouse would be pretty cool. I have to say that your boat is already badass thought. Great video and thank you!

That’s nice you should build yourself a storage bin under the front build it out of steel or his way you will put more weight on the front not counting what you put in there!!

I would have definitely moved the steering and engine controls as far forward as possible just for visibility. You could add a FLIR camera system which wouldn’t cost much to get 360 situational awareness, especially at night. You might not see flotsam or jetsam in the water until it was too late. And all that under hull wiring needs to be in conduit. . I would add an anchor and about 100’ of 1”chain, which would help trip the boat. You need a vhf radio, a compass and a fishfinder so you have an idea what’s under you.

Cool shantyboat I like how you left the original railing on for support, the only thing I would change would to have moved the steering console up to the front of the cabin for better visibility. I like the third pontoon idea someone suggested but that's more money and we all know boats are money pits.

I think it’s an awesome boat! As far as the stern being low, look for a 10 ft “tri-toon” to install in the middle at the stern and that will fix your problem. That should be enough to level it out to match the front of the boat.

I would relocate the fuel tank more to the front and find a way to distribute your dead weight a little more. This advice comes from a man that was in the Navy for 17 years and work on boats both large and small. I was a hull technician. That meant I did all the repairs.

Really nice project, really nice job. But, check the rules for inland waterways, I think now that you have added the structure your anchor light (stern) needs relocated. It must be visible for 360 degrees if I remember my boating years.

Red on Right Returning. Really enjoy your videos. Hope you start giving us some more action video while you are cruising. You are a great storyteller but just talking to the camera gets old. Take a lot of video and then do voice-over. The Mississippi is a tough place to boat. You did really well for your first adventure. Bring it over to Florida, I would recommend Blackwater River or St. Johns River. We do it every year.

I lifted mine to the bottom holes because of the weight would be pushing the boat down. It runs great on the water the motor is not so deep and causes a drag. And the motor won't touch bottom loading and unloading.

D- KUSTOMS GARAGE being docked . or anchored . what about weights hanging on rope in the water on both sides for balance not touching the bottom. sailboats have weighed keels to prevent roll overs. I think that would work .you couldn't use them under way. another option would be weight in the pontoons. especially for shanty boats built on pontoons. balance thiers lots of options you could use maybe out riggers pontoons. catamaran style. you could also raise them to the side when you trailer. I've seen vids on thoes hydraulic ones. But thiers options thier also.
