It’s probably your carborater I had the same problem with the same brand new HP carb. The stock NT carborater I found works a lot better and has better idle and cold starts are faster.

Oh and I would recommend getting some 26 inch mag tires. Love them, they look awesome, they won’t brake as easily as a normal rim will, I own2 motorbikes and I have the same bike as you, they will fit the huffy bike.

I will definitely look into those, because I will be getting a smaller sprocket as well

The jet is right try with your clip on the needle up is basically leaning it out down is making it rich and pull the plug and make sure it’s not closed or make sure the bottom of your plug isn’t black that means your running way too rich it has to be perfect around 40:1 to make the plug brown and let it burn correctly. The next step could be weak connections through the CDI it could be your boot. Other than that if you need more help I can try to help out a bit more.

Moterbike Mike here, Dude I'd hate to say it but ditch toe hp carb and go with a regular nt- speed carb, and a 67jet and i promise you'll like it 💯 more. Persistence beats resistance always remember that just keep at it and keep your ears open you'll get there man .peace out brother

Absolutely spot on. Stock carbs really only like being at sea level.

First think dont use this carburator, for you as a beginner it is whole lot easier to set up right right, It is all about just 2 thinks, first is exhaust and second is airfuel mixture, I would recomend 1:33 in order not to sease the engine and make the mixture very very lean, and then go up, actually on the original carb with original jet I would recomend the 2 slot from top at the needle, I even ride the most top one (leanest mixture). With original stock carburator and exhaust + big original 44teeth sprocket with right mixture I was able to achieve 32mph. But I would recomend one more think if you want more top speed and dont care to loose a little of aceleration buy 36 t sprocket.

40:1 cradle to grave. The intake manifold is probably creating some restrictions and the jet is too rich for the engine.
@SquirrelMcBeaverton10 ай бұрын
i agree high compression head honestly. I would go to about 72 jet run it about 32.1-40.1 anywhere in the middle easy way to do that is get a measuring cup 4-5 ounces of oil per gallon of gas is perfect in my experience. the jetting also depends on of sea level the lower you are the higher the jet vise versa..I'm no pro I've had a few of them and I watch alot of youtube videos. Also could be your timing. Once you start figuring out what works for your riding style its easy to perfect. Those little china dolls are alot of trial by era...Happy riding

If u have changed the stock carburator jet u would probably now have to play with the fuel needle inyector to regulate the amount of fuel entering from the intake tube into the cylinder. That only in the case u had noticed a decrease in power. If the engine get problems maintaining iddle RPM and you feel it accelerated to keep running that means the mixture is rich in air and poor in fuel. That may get to be the problem if you put a thinner carburator jet. If the engine ran ok with stock carburetor jet and u changed it try moving the needle whaser one or two places down and that' fix it. Otherwise you might be having candel spark rate problems and that is fixed by changing the CDI. The float inside the carburator could also play a rol in fuel intake. Motorbikers from México recommend a distance of 2.1 to 2.3 cm from the bottom of the cube to the top of the float.

For the gas it is 3.2 Oz. That equals 40 to 1. Never change it again always 40 to 1 and you should try a 65 jet

There are many tutorials on KZbin on how to install one, but you mainly want to install the cable through the stick on the engine.

Dude. lean it out. It's not even hitting the power curve yet. more air for sure. it should feel like it does now, but when the power comes on it should RIP! So first, go with a leaner gas oil mix... see if it helps cause thats easiest, then pull the air filter off and try it. then go for a smaller fuel jet. You'll know when it gets there!

You might haft to trash your engine entirely to tell you the truth. May be air leaks. I'll chose the Jetted free flowing NT carb ANY day over a HP or OKO. Factory exhaust actually works. I think the other stuff is just for looks really. I wanna just have the noise...
@Outback692 ай бұрын
Its a motorized bicycle not a Harley. I just want to make it run as free flowing as possible and be safe in traffic. This is how I run my 2000 Outback. Don't care what she sounds like just want it to run...

You only are doing bolt on parts and nothing special like big porting or anything. You need to put the 70 jet in, maybe go to a 72 but stock jets are stock for a reason you know. So try that cause you should be getting more out of that setup. Good luck brother.
