Hurray! Congratulations on passing the MOT!!! It's fantastic that regular guys (not proffessionals) decide to do such things and with great success! I've just bought myself a mark II Golf that needs a lot of work and love. Oh, it also needs an MOT;) I guess I'm just in the beginning of the road you've already completed:) All the best!

Well done mate, you've done such a cracking job! I've been doing odds and ends to mine as well, but not to the depth you did. Fantastic work, keep it up. Cheers

Enjoying the videos! I'm about to go through the same thing with my '74 roadster. Right now the exhaust doesn't have adequate clearance and is banging on the floors, just another thing to fix......

Obviously wires would be nice but you know how expensive that route is, how about some tidy rostyles, depends on how close to original you are keeping the car, what year is it? Nice job so far, I'm trying to pluck up the courage to start on my 69 roadster basket case. Steve.....

When cutting so much of the floor and sills away, any support needed to prevent sagging. I'm about to start on a 64 B. Great educational videos by the way. Steve
@RebuildthePast6 жыл бұрын
steve rance I presume it’s just a B? I would put a brace in between the doors. I didn’t because it’s a GT so it has more rigidity. Hope it goes well

come may this year your car won't require an mot. any vehicles that are 40 years or more won't require an mot just a declaration.
@RebuildthePast7 жыл бұрын
Concerning really... It will be interesting to see what insurance companies require. I have a feeling they will ask for a check
@SuperLeddie7 жыл бұрын
no, they have to follow legislation. but it doesn't mean you can drive around in a banger, it will still be subject to police checks. currently any car built before 1960 doesn't require an mot, that's been in place for about 15 years with no problems. i am at the moment doing an mgb gt a 1971 and turning it into an le50 with a 2.0 sport engine and six speed gearbox but i'm going a little bit further than frontline and putting in the 5 link suspension and lsd diff. basically take a mk3 2'0 sport mx5 , narrow it by 10 inches and put an mgb gt shell over it.
