Can't wait and I'd like to thank you for everything you do and for me, personally, in terms of coming to realize how I didn't have any good reasons to believe God exists even though I felt alone and confused at the time but now, having watched you discuss various topics about creationism, biblical error and talk to people on why they believe, it has thoroughly convinced that there is no justification supported by evidence to believe any of the claims that the supernatural or Gods exists, irrespective of which of religion they originate from. Since becoming an atheist and taking the time to become educated has completely changed my life. I believe I am developing a strong philosophy and have now been clean for 3 years. The Bible says in John 3:16-36 that whoever believes in the Lord Jesus Christ shall not perish but have everlasting life, the Bible also says in Romans 10:9 that those who declare with their mouth that Jesus Christ is their God, Lord, and Savior they shall be saved. Revelation 1:8 says that Jesus is the alpha and the omega. Luke and revelation is the ending times, and Jesus is returning back. So are you going to submit your life to him or no? Narrow is the path that leads to the gates of heaven, but only few people find it. The gates that is the path to destruction is where many people find it! Jesus loves you SO MUCH! That he died on the cross, and was resurrected from the dead 3 days later to give us eternal life..!.!.

@@raysalmon6566 I will regard this as a nice try because: Harriet Martineau was foremost a storywriter who also wrote articles on science for newspapers to explain the science in laymens terms. Altough this doesn't mean she's wrong for only this reason which would be "ad hominem" and therefore wrong, it is quentionable if a laymen person could understand and/or disprove the theory of evolution. But the most important point to make is: Her work which you quotemine from was published in 1851. As she pointed out " there is no positive evidence, at present", she was reflecting on the knowledge of her time around 1851 and before. I think we've made some progress in the last 170 years, don't you think? For example, the first hint about DNA was found 1869 by Friedrich Miescher, about 18 years later than Harriet Martineau has published her work. Trying to convice people to not follow the evidence of science by quotemining a non-scientist on her laymen knowledge and interpretation about knowledge from 170 years ago could be considered as dishonesty. But i don't know you, and therefore this accusation would be far feched but i would strongly recommend you to update your knowledge about this topic because it could be outdated by some decades ...

That's nothing more than a circular argument no better than "because the bible", and the books of the bible are evidently contradictory to each other (despite being totally and utterly accurate in the minds of apologists), plagiarise from each other, for example passages of the books in the new testaments are direct copies of passages in the old testaments just with names changes, and that's before many of the stories in the old testament are just copies of stories told in preceding cultures (who at least admitted to being polytheistic and from which the gods of the old testament, then the magically singular-except-really-three abrahamic god(s), appears with names directly descending from the names of individual gods in the previous cultures).

@@davonuk1 Particularly as he can't even get anything remotely right... Many of the books of the bible are common to abrahamic religions, not just judaic and christian sects. That there is extensive evidence that these books were plagiarised from earlier beliefs and books is a different point. The bible does not intersect with anything other than itself. A self-referencing argument is not an argument at all, it's just someone shoving their fingers in their ears, shouting "la la la la I can't hear you" The magic reincarnation of a mythical figure (with zero evidence anywhere other the self-referencing within the same book of stories) is neither original, as it's pretty much copied from previous stories in earlier cultures, and not even consistent within the stories of the bible. Which were all written somewhat after the claimed event and not within the life time of anybody who could ever have witnessed first hand such a point in time. As for the word salad rubbish of magical reincarnation and evidence and some loaded nonsense question which nobody asked and the answer can only ever be "because the bible says so"... basically the poster wrote absolutely nothing and then repeated it for good measure. I have not forgotten Genesis (creation & the flood included), I have very clear memory and understanding of that nonsense. As a child I read the Bible multiple times. I was raised in the Catholic faith. As I matured and my mental capability grew, I came to understand that the information I was seeing at 'The Natural History Museum' & 'The Science Museum' in London (which I haunted practically every weekend) was utterly at odds with the nonsense in the Bible. I was 9 years old when I reached that conclusion. The concept of 'Original Sin', is blamed on the 'fall' of Adam & Eve is fundamental to the Christian faith, particularly Catholicism, without it the sacrifice of Jesus is meaningless. Once one understands that Genesis is nonsense & the story of Adam & Eve is fantasy, the underpinning of Christianity collapses. It became clear to me that sin, was merely a construct with which to control the population & keep the religious hierarchy in power and the free money etc coming in. Without it, the Clergy would have to do real work for a living. As I grew older, I learned far more about religions heinous history in human society. It has been the cause of countless deaths and persecution of 'the different'. In addition the hypocrisy of the clergy and their followers, particularly in the Catholic faith further enhanced my antipathy to religion.

I was dragged up as a Roman Catholic and even wound up in a Roman Catholic secondary school. One of the events that I particularly remember was a visiting monk, who I remember as quite a nice guy, very real and open, stating that the content of Genesis was written rather recently and was required because as society developed people started to have time to think more and therefore to wonder where they came from. As a result, a creation myth was created but it should not be taken as literal because of the timings, more of an allegorical tale of caution.

The Fukushima ELE still has an extremely long time yet to run its course. Many, many, many thousands of years. And... among that wholesale slaughter of life, the extinction of the phytoplankton. The radiation from the Fukushima ELE is killing off the phytoplankton and atmospheric oxygen levels have dropping because oxygen is no longer being replenished like it used to be. It doesn't take long for oxygen to be used up in one way or another. Once the phytoplankton are gone, they're gone, baby, they're gone. Permanently. And oxygen will never again be replenished back to its usual equilibrium like it used to be. "Normal" ceased to exist on 3-11-11. On that day, the future had a new and conclusive paradigm. What was, no longer would be.

The way they package “the reliability of the Bible”, reactionary politics, and pseudoscience as if it’s a curriculum is absolutely dystopian. The fact that the program is suited for K-8th grade speaks volumes to its pedagogical merit. Imagine! “8th graders, after our unit on the periodic table, we’ll be learning the days of the week with finger painting”. And, “kindergarteners, now that we’ve introduced the first 3 letters of the alphabet, we’ll apply them to graph systems of quadratic equations.” Nonsense has no clear place for introduction in a school curriculum because it’s just that: nonsense, which has no place in a school curriculum.

I come from one of those cults. Worst part, you have to hear them all the time their misunderstandings about evolution and all science in general. They don't have a clue, but they don't have a clue in anything, even its own religion. Is it Halloween? Well, it is a pagan feast were all families ate their children (literally their words, not mine). Worst part, when you tell them that they are making a fool of themselves, and that to talk about evolution you should know what evolution is first, more if you are talking against, or you say to them that even when Halloween was pagan it evolved over the course of time and it has little to do, just like Christmas, and that even Christmas was originally pagan and stolen by them, when you expose their stupidity that you are hearing all the time in the streets, in KZbin, in Facebook, in Instagram, even in your house even after telling them that you don't care about their imaginary god and that you don't live in fantasy land, then they tell you that they are seriously offended by your words and that you should learn to respect others beliefs. Yeah sure, whatever except to get a book and learn something. Then they are all the time crying that people learn evolution theory and go out of churches...

The fact that we can "forget" (10;40) the fairy tales of the Bible by just learning facts about reality is really damning in regards to it being taken for actual fact or reality. I enjoy watching your content, as well as others who take the time to educate, debunk, and attempt to rid people of who knows how long of mental programming and downright brainwashing. It forces me to look back on the person I used to be when I was a christian. Looking back it feels like I’m almost remembering the life of another person, and yet, it was always me, and I have the added benefit of being able to see how I was being deceived, how I allowed it and bought into the deception, and how to spot deceptive beliefs and ideologies going forward. There will always be a lot of mental and emotional baggage to unpack, but I’m ultimately grateful for the experience, because it allowed me to be a calmer, more rational, forgiving, understanding, and accepting person. We’re all descendants of apes, made of the same matter that makes up everything else in the galaxy. It existed before us, and it will exist long after us, and that thought brings me more peace now than any afterlife ever did. To anybody still reading this, stay curious and be excellent to each other!

I found an extremely practical application of the faux-leather bound paperback "Holy Bible" issued by the bookstore of my Catholic High School on the first day of my freshman year in September 1995. It was an excellent pillow during my daily nap during the 45 or 52 minutes of my rotating 6th period Religion class, with Mister Nielsen.

I guess that the people of Genesis Apologetics think that the way life worked "before death" was like in the Simpsons Bible Stories. There in Marge's dream of the Garden of Eden, Adam (Homer) had a pig friend of whom he extracted bacon and the pig would regenerate immediately.

I’ll be honest between my own doubts in the scriptures from day one to this year were I renounced my faith completely, it’s been intellectuals like yourself that have made this possible, I suffer from chronic depression and I took to religion because I felt it would release me from my shackles so to speak, but it’s only after all this time that I realized that I only put further bondage onto myself. One of my favorite memories from that time however is sitting with my pastor and really having an intellectual discussion with her, and if there is a heaven I hope she sees it, she was kind and even willing to humor my questions, she didn’t badger me for questioning god or his machinations or call me a non-believer. In fact it was when I told her that “the Bible isn’t a holy scripture written by god, it the very least it was written by man on how to live a Godly life”. However this was before I read the Bible and it’s older versions from front to back. What makes this memory so fond to me is that she intentionally pushed me to ask further questions and come to my own conclusions rather than demanding that I adhere to scriptures. She said that “Gods gift of intelligence to man shouldn’t be squandered by shackling yourself to scriptures.” And while I may not believe in god anymore and no longer follow the faith it was ironically one of the faithful that showed me this path. Ps: keep doing what you’re doing Aron, you are helping people.

"Good answers are just a click away!" That's another funny part about religion. You all keep changing your answers and trying to invent new ways to justify your beliefs but when you ask us about scientific fact, our answers are always the same (minus personal choices in phrasing) because we know they're the right answers.
@Antis14CZ

It's fascinating how Dave said it as if it was a good thing for his side. Like Aron said, people having answers a few clicks away is the single most devastating blow religion has suffered in its entire history.

weird in itself, because anything truly scientific is actually open to change, albeit with a lot of scrutiny. contrast that with faith of any kind, which is a refusal to budge on their position, regardless of scrutiny

Great video. The only thing I would add is that when he pointed out the textbooks have been rewritten so many times, your response that science is supposed to work that way is a good one, but we could also point out that religious texts have also been rewritten or added to many many times. And for much worse reasons.

That ‘scoffers’ passage is such a cheap cop out, and it baffles me that they don’t see that. If I was writing the Bible, I would absolutely include a passage that said ‘anyone who doesn’t believe this is ignorant’, so if anybody tried to argue what I was saying my followers could just say: “See, you’re just a scoffer, and the Bible knew people like you would come along!’

It reminds me of the old Danny Kaye song, 'The King's New Clothes'. They managed to persuade virtually everybody that the king had a new suit of clothes but ignorant people would not be able to see it. The king was actually naked yet everybody marvelled at his new attire for fear of being thought of as stupid.
