The Repairman Jack books just get better. And there is continuty. I tried to read Brandon Sanderson just not my thing. Just finished the Patricia Highsmith Diaries a tad over 1000 pages. Onto some old school adventure/thriller Desmond Bagley. A few years ago his publisher put out his books as 2 for 1 collections. Probably his most famous book might be Freedom Trap aka The Mackintosh Man (Paul Newman movie).

I read a lot of short books this month, including several one-day reads. The best book I read was Edith Wharton's ghost story collection appropriately titled GHOSTS. I really love reading ghost stories in December and January. Brom's Krampus: The Yule Lord was really good, almost but not quite as good as the other book of his I read this year: Slewfoot. Both of my "accidental books" were amazing. I picked up Boston Jane by Jennifer Holm in a Little Free Library and it ended up being the best Western I read this year. A Lowcountry Christmas by Mary Alice Monroe reminded me so much of an old family Christmas special that I immediately gave it to my mother to read afterward. I picked up the first of David Morrell's Thomas de Quincey Victorian mystery/thrillers, and I'll be getting more. I loved all three of my Christmas presents: The Book of Bill (a Gravity Falls tie-in), Murakami's horror novella Audition, and a copy of Musashi samurai manual: Book of Five Rings. Discovered several good stories in the Advent of Winter collection and every ghost story I read on New Years Eve to New Years Day was amazing, including an Edith Wharton story that wasn't in Ghosts. Best reading month this year, and if Dracula's Child doesn't drop the ending, I will be starting this year with an A+ read.

Andrew! How dare you. This new year I was all about not letting book tube derail my reading plans with recommendations. Then you just had to compare The Tomb with Relic. That like hitting me with Kryptonite. 😂. Happy New Year my friend. Keep up all the good work and I'll keep watching and supporting 🎉.
