So glad to see someone pick up Wendig! I feel you will enjoy his books. Can’t speak too much about Black River Orchard as I have not read it yet but I enjoyed his Wanderers Duology. Not sure if going past two books yet. And his Miriam Black series, which I highly highly recommend, as it’s the story of a woman with the ability to see how you die when she touches you. Good stuff!!!

Just a heads up, Ararat is the start of the Ben Walker series. Three books so far, each self contained stories but featuring Ben Walker as the Robert Langdon or Agent Pendergast style expert. I've only read Ararat, when it won the Stoker, and even at that time had no idea Golden was going to continue the character. I recommend the audio for Ararat.

I've read two books this month and four graphic novels. The books were This Immortal by Zelazny, and the best was a Robert Howard Conan collection. Best graphic novel and maybe one of the best I've read in my forty-plus years in comics was The Metabarons: The First Cycle by Jodorowsky. It's origins are in the failed attempt by Jodorowsky to adapt a film version of Dune in the 1970s. There are glimpses of Dune very early in the story, but it quickly becomes its own unique, amazing space opera. Highly recommend that one. I'm currently reading At the Earths Core by Burroughs and a short story collection of Appalachian Gothic sci-fi titled Telling the Map by Christopher Rowe.

Eighty pages into my first Andrzej Sapkowski. My twenty-four-year-old son is a huge fan of the Witcher games and books, so I picked up this Sapkowski at my library. This isn't one of his Witcher book, but a historical fantasy. Still trying to figure out if I like it. The plot and main character are interesting, but there is a lot of historical info about Poland and Czech in this book and it sometimes stalls the story.

Here's hoping you find something to settle on and enjoy. Fully support the library love. I do 85% of my reading through Libby. One of the underdiscussed advantages of the library is that it makes putting books down super easy and removes that voice in the back of the head yelling that you spent money and have to read the book. Just having books circulate is what libraries want to justify their budgets. My favorite reads so far have be This Will Be Fun by E.B. Asher which is just a very silly adventure book about trauma and survivor's guilt. And Book Lovers by Emily Henry, which is a romcom for people who dont normally get to be the stars of a romcom.
