You already have a tiny home you travel in. Live in the van until you get "established", (i.e. self sustaining) then build your permanent home.

that's a fair point. we are considering selling the van whilst it's still worth a decent amount of money to build a tiny house which would give us more space in the short term. But also less travel! can't decide....
