Vatha Kuzhambu: Vathals is the tamil word for sun dried vegetables or berries. The veggies or berries are soaked in buttermilk for some hours or overnight and later sun dried. In this recipe post I have shared the method of making manathakkali kuzhambu. Manathakkali is the tamil word for black nightshade berries. Sundakkai is called Sun dried turkey berries.

Coriander Seeds - 4 spoon
Dry Chilli - 8 nos
Pepper Seeds - 1 tsp
Fenugreek - 1 tsp
Gram Dal - 1 tsp
Cumin Seeds - 1 tsp
Mustard - 1 tsp
Toor Dal - 3 spoon

Sesame Oil - 5 spoon
Mustard - 1/2 spoon
Asafoetida - 2 cubes
Fenugreek - 1/4 tsp
Toor Dal - 1 spoon
Sundakkai Vatha - 25 nos
Manathakkali Vathal - 2 tbsp
Turmeric Powder - 1/4 spoon
Vathal Kuzhambu Powder - 2 spoon
Curry Leaves
Tamarind Water - 2 cup
Salt to taste
Jaggery small piece
