In this episode, we build a set of DIY trailing arms for the Ranger. The cut files were sourced from DIY Offroad and we had Adam from Deuling Design cut them for us. The trailing arms will replace the lower links of the 4 link suspension and give us a place to mount a bypass shock and get more travel!

It’s kinda funny. Everything that I’ve learned at welding school and on the job really doesn’t mean smack. Push don’t pull, up not down. I’ve had to do bastard welds just because being out of position. Then last week I watched a chic weld trailing arms together for some manufacturer. She broke ever rule and her stuff looked a million times better than mine. She pulled every weld, went downhill. I’ve seen so many videos like that. And they were awesome welds. Bet they all would pass certs. So clean and burn. As long as it’s strong.

it the trailing arm just a beam/rod linking two point to give that push forward? or does it have any other characteristic?

Stoked to see yall making videos again! And perfect timing I was just researching high clearance trailing arms last night. Id love more info on the wobble stopper joint. Was that whole joint bushings and all available somewhere? Also iv heard bad things are bushings over Delrin spacers on a rock crawler. Any concerns with that?

The wobble stopper was a complete kit from TMR customs. It's very nice, but definitely more expensive than a typical bushing. I can't say much on delrin vs a rubber bushing, this is the first delrin bushing I've used. This should last longer, but more vibrations will transfer to the chassis and it's not flexible except for the misalignment that's built into the joint. With the spherical bearing this joint will be incredibly strong.

What size square tube are you using for sliders? I haven't looked into it yet (for $$$ reasons) but that is the way I want to go on my next set for the Dodge.

did this mess with your drive shaft or can you still use it
@RecklessWrenchGarage

These are the same length as the lower links I had previously so driveshaft length didn't change and I'm still in the usable travel of the shaft and joint
