The great thing about Lena is she doesn't have a lot of weight or super huge muscles, so everything she does is all about technique. She is also an excellent teacher!

That's why it's best to learn from a woman. Men can use brute strength and get away with it without using proper technique. Women don't have the same luxury. They have to use proper technique to accomplish the same thing. Plus Lena is a damn good teacher. Very thorough and explains all aspects of what she's talking about. And I'm sure it didn't hurt to have the world Champion as a father.

I can't imagine a better, more-detailed breakdown of the elements of taking a proper, effective stance, along with something I hadn't considered: focusing not on the pulling of the trigger, but the release.

So true about muscles squeezing but not releasing. Took me a long time to figure that out in my riding of horses especially in dressage. So many similarities in upper body position and core management in this video I connected with directly because of my riding. Lena you are amazing. Would love to learn from you as I'm a total beginner. Cheers from Vancouver, Canada.

I have been watching videos from several different instructors, but they all fail to mention one thing: Slightly bend your arms sideways to mitigate upward recoil. This is the one thing that i was missing which made me re-aim after everyshot no matter how hard i gripped or locked my wrist. Lena is a godsend. This single video along with the proper grip is all you need to practice to maintain aim and stance after firing a round. Thank you, Lena. I am actually angry at Tactical Hyve for never mentioning this. It's like teaching someone how to build a house without showing them how to build the foundation...

I have never seen anyone put 2 fingers over the trigger guard before. I was always taught not to. I never had a tendency to do that anyways but I did see someone who never held a gun before put one finger over the trigger guard when hold them and aiming them (empty). I told the person that is not how to hold a gun and not how I was taught and told by several people not to hold that way. Anyone else have a finger or two over the trigger quard? Why? I imagine to help with recoil control? Aim? I guess what ever is comfortable.?

@Jim Weck II she has a video out on her father's channel I believe that explains her hand and finger placement to detail. Its been too long to remember since I have seen it. I shoot a 1911 .357sig so any bit to help tame recoil I am on it.

Nice job. It totally makes sense about how you need to start with your weight on the balls of your feet not neutral. I've been guilty of that. Also love the comment about liking the violence of the shotgun blast. Me too.

The first thing she kinda hints at is that she's a tiny little girl trying to muscle around a big, heavy hitting gun. Solution? Build up your lunch muscle. Order the large fries. Go back for thirds at every meal. Have extra ice cream.
