Thanks! Not thinking about weaving is the most common mistake. We've even heard of real military employees that used to use MOLLE wrong. So, you're definitely not the only one. And that's why we make these videos. 😉| Viper out

Get some kydex inserts for mag pouches on your carrier and ditch the retention straps that hold the mags in. Moving those straps in stressful situations can get you sim-dead due to the extra time it takes to remove the strap. Sure, it's like 1-second, but a lot can and has happened in 1-second. Subscribed!
@ReconBrothers5 жыл бұрын
True, a lot can happen in 1 second. I've seen these inserts a few times but couldn't get why they would be useful. Now, I know! Thanks bro, we'll look into them. 🤙 And also thanks for the sub! ✌ | Viper out
@hyperslow556gungamer5 жыл бұрын
@@ReconBrothers The inserts grab the mag solid, for which it takes about 20-25psi to insert/remove the mag. You can turn your carrier upside-down and shake, and shake, and shake, and the mags wont fall out! There are HSGI and Esstac inserts. The Esstac being the cheapest and easiest to work with and cut to specific need/size. It looks like you have mid-length pouches, so some of the top of the kydex inserts would need to be cut down. And, if you think the grab from the kydex is too strong, you can heat the kydex and lessen-strengthen its hold on the mag. The HSGI are molded and don't far to well trying to heat the insert to lessen-strengthen the retention.

100% in favor of the classic instead of the laser cut. I tend to switch my configuration a lot depending on the gameplay, lasercut webbing seems, to met at least, a lot more time-consuming to take off and put on again.

Excellent video! So glad I found this channel, great quality all the way. My favourite version of MOLLE is the Russian UMBTS system. It's PALS compatible and the lock consist in double-length, soft plastic-reinforced strips that locks by routing back half of it after weaving, which makes it *so* much easier. Regular MOLLE can be very frustrating and even painful to weave in and out; I got the feeling most people that use MOLLE incorrectly are well-aware of the right way to weave it, but just can't be bothered to go with that process. UMBTS is way faster and hassle-free. They could re-configure the whole platform in the time It'd take to re-configure a single MOLLE pouch :p In the typical Russian fashion, they copied a system, simplified it, and improved it in the process.
@Stoney3K4 жыл бұрын
Which is surprising enough that they simplified it, because PALS itself is just a grid of fabric strips, 1" wide and spaced 1" apart. The only 'complicated' bit left is the locking system.

Funny story from when i was a new player. I took a tumble as one often does in airsoft and i didn't realize my triple MP5 mag pouch had came off. 5 min later somebody tapped me on the shoulder and asked, "missing something?" while holding my pouch. Oops. he chuckles and says, "don't worry about it. we were all new once" I had made the mistake of not weaving my pouch onto my vest lol

Anyone knows if laser cut molle is as strong as traditional web molle? I understand the weight savings benefit of laser well as cost savings in manufacturing, but is it as strong? Seems like the industry is going all in in laser cut.

It's just me or this molle system seems not practical at all? It's cumbersome, it add a lot of weight, and you don't really take advantage of modularity since the attach/detach process is slow and complicated.
@ReconBrothers2 жыл бұрын
It's not only about practicality, but also about reliability. Meaning how secure it stays fixed & how durable it is in extreme conditions. As of today this is the only system that has proven this. As for weight, yes the classic stitched PALS did add quite some weight, but the more recent laser-cut designs are much lighter, so that's been dealt with in the last couple of years. And yes every gram counts, but most of the weight you're carrying will come from your weapon(s), ammo, ballistic protection & backpack if needed. The modularity process doesn't have to be quick either, there's no function in that because you always prepare your kit before using it & once you have it set up, you best don't change too much since you have to know by reflex where most of your stuff is located. I Viper
