Look at the ten year treasury yield and the dxy. It doesn’t look good for the stock market at the moment. last time I saw this was in 2020

Yes I see what you mean, but I think a strong dollar and yield is being priced in due to market expecting a strong US economy to persist, especially relative to the rest of the world. Cheers!

It was weird. VIX was up 75% yesterday, but the etf's were up more today.

Yes VXX and other volatility ETFs hold the VIX futures, so when VIX front month accelerates more than 2nd month like today the ETFs move higher, but yesterday like Aug 5 was weird though, sharp sensitive spikes in the spot VIX.

Both the economy and the stock market have been growing well the last couple of years, in 2020 both the economy and markets briefly fell off a cliff, similar to how they both did in 2008-09 too. I would say there's a decent correlation between the two, with the stock market usually about 6-9 months ahead of the economy in it's pricing.
