I prefer to run a cable thru my USWE and keep a powebank in the bag. Also I usually remove the GoPro battery because when filming in 4K AND charging they have a tendency to overheat.

I love this idea and I love the comment below about the waterproof putty below, but some ingenious individual will eventually come up with some waterproof door that goes with a plug that has a silicone gasket and they will advertise it as "water resistant". I'm either running my GoPro's on my pontoon boat or Hobie kayak fishing and doing a battery change-out is always been a sketchy situation, but this would work excellent! I love how it constantly charges the battery so it you know its always ready to go and this would work because I could keep it hooked up when I am not fishing. Nice description and directions.

@Top-Jimmy Жыл бұрын
Hi mate, If you watch it again, He takes the battery completely out of the cam. Then adds an aftermarket blank door to still be able to access the USB port inside. It's a brilliant idea. It's one of the things I really enjoy about GoPro these days, Is the aftermarket gear for them... There is a huge range of goodies out there. I hope this helps Frederick. Take care buddy wherever you are in the world. Regards from Australia 🙂

Thanks so much for this video! Extremely helpful. Curious - does your GoPro ever overheat? I was warned that it might if I filmed all day long. Thanks!
@inboxnews3 жыл бұрын
It definitely van overheat if the conditions are right and the battery will deteriorate rapidly from constant charging so be careful when doing this. Lithium batteries are known to explode or catch fire when overheated.
@huntermalone68832 жыл бұрын
Will overheat, but it will turn off on its own.
@peter_there4 жыл бұрын
This does not work. You have to remove the battery for it to draw power from external source. When the battery drains, it charges. When its charging, it automatically stops recording.
@19alchemist783 жыл бұрын

This idea might not be viable because GoPro batteries are susceptible to overcharging and getting swollen, doing this will likely bloat it up quicker. Battery might not last even 2 months for a regular vlogger.

@oswaldomaldonado84583 жыл бұрын
@@billyadams3267 depends how many GB your micro SD card has!! If it’s 32 GB it only allows about 1 hour and like 15 minutes of recording. The more GB it has, the more time you can record. It should display on the top left corner of your GoPro Hero 8

@tonyboschi79603 жыл бұрын
Buy a larger card, it will solve all your recording issues. I run 256gb cards in all my GoPro's and never run out of recording space. On a related note, I don't mind paying extra and I wish GoPro would just put the larger (132gb, 256gb, etc) cards with the camera and charge me for it. I have a bunch of 32gb cards that are basically worthless.
