Right they don't even say what it scored! I would guess 110
@Mossy-back-blacktail2 ай бұрын
@@tolt1776 I would definitely think it's bigger than 110 he's probably pushing 130 ish
@tolt17762 ай бұрын
@Mossy-back-blacktail nope I guarantee it and I'll tell you why. It ain't thick! 99% of all blscktails that score over 115" have HUGE THICK BASES. I mean 2-3" thick! If a buck doesn't have that and scores high it will be WAY WIDER THAN ITS EARS and at least 25" tall. 25" wide and 25" tall, are you saying you think this buck is that big? I highly suggest getting a copy of your states record book and studying the photos and also looking at Boone and Crockett and pope and Young. This was a young mature buck.
@Mossy-back-blacktail2 ай бұрын
@@tolt1776 it's a lot nicer than most bucks harvested in the blacktail category. And I got a basket rack for by 5 on my wall That's scored by a Boone and Crockett official score that's 97 in. He's up on my channel so I wouldn't say he's 110 for sure he might be more like in the middle at 120 maybe. But you're not wrong that was probably about a four and a half year old with a good genetics
@tolt17762 ай бұрын
@Mossy-back-blacktail exactly! People get all butt hurt, but facts are facts! It's like the difference between a 20 and 30 lbs salmon and the difference yet again between a 50 and 60 lbs salmon! When these bucks hit 5+ they "get the thickness" IF, they have good genetics, lots of high quality food sources, AND WATER! I have legit 125" buck on my wall I never ever would let a buck like mine or this one walk, but I've also learned you do if you want to shoot a bigger one!

Awesome buck! That was really cool how the property owner let you go put it down. I thought that was neat. Great job!
@stephenmanukas76012 ай бұрын
Nice to sell it to the landowner that way, but that buck didn't need to be "put down". He was injured, but would have survived. He was there because he was chasing that hot doe. If he was able to jump that fence, he was not hurt that bad. One broken leg doesn't stop them. Killed a buck years ago with a previously broken (snapped) back leg 6" above the hoof. His leg offset about 2", and there was a ball of calcium the size of a grapefruit where it broke. He was healed and chasing a doe like nothing happened. Also seen multiple 3-legged deer, perfectly healthy. They can deal with a lot.

They did that to justify shooting a yard buck and posting it on KZbin. Personally I'd rather nobody justify what they do.

Sort of like those guys back east that shoot them over a corn feeder right Indiana ( not in Indiana that's illegal ). Lol They did everything they were supposed to do and harvested a nice buck . They also culled a wounded deer . Good practices in my book . As hunters, we shouldn't be putting each other down . If someone is hunting in a legal way , who are we to judge what makes them happy ? I've killed like 4 this size and 2 bigger . I guess I've killed several once in a lifetime blacktails in my life. Come to California if you want to see some real monster blacktails . You can see bucks like this every year here . Maybe only during bow season , but they're here every year . During rifle, you're going to have to have your homework done tight !
