Not being able to record the internal, system sound on a Mac is a real pain. It makes creating things like screencasts, let’s plays, and reaction videos, challenging without the use of extra software. Hey Mike, one more trick I found recording audio. QuickTime defaults to Dolby 7.1, so the audio goes to track input 3 {Center} instead of 1 & 2. Most Apple software simply plays any audio from inputs 3 to 7 to the default speaker configuration L & R. It’s a non-issue for iMovie, Keynote or GarageBand. But DaVinci Resolve is not too smart and will not playback the audio of a screen recording from QuickTime. To fix in Resolve, you can open the clip attributes | audio and route track 3 to L & R stereo. Then you’ll hear it.

Could u please show me how i could recored vid using my webcam WHILE i am singing and recording on garageband. The trick is to record the backing track (on garageband) on the video audio..this way i dont have to switch audio tracks when making the video for publishing. Thx

I just found your channel and really enjoy it. My buddy and I recently started a podcast/KZbin show. We are very low budget and haven’t posted any of the videos because of editing the sound issues. We used a MacBook camera as our camera but the sound was terrible. We put an iPhone between us and used the memo recorder to record sound(night and day difference). I line up the sound and within 20 seconds they don’t match up???? By the end of a 20 minute recording they are way off. I have to make 3-4 cuts in the audio per minute of video. Why is this and is there a easier way to make the audio line up and stay lined up?

Tray adding an external mic to the MacBook. You can get some inexpensive, but decent quality USB mics on Amazon. Since you're doing a podcast, audio quality should be your priority.

@@MacVideoMagic yes. I watched your video on the NT USB mini and it sounds great on your videos and is still under $100 on Amazon. But I was looking for any short cuts you might now since I have 3 episodes recorded and the editing is so time consuming. I will be getting a the mic soon.

Is this similar to soundflower but this has greater audio control levels than soundflower does. Unless im not doing soundflower justice? do you guys agree (ie that soundflower has less control over internal levels compared to this? )

looks it is not alternative for blackHole. it is not working if you dont have RODE NT-USB Mini Condenser Microphone: or similar brandad device. (or i am doing something wrong)
