Hi Dave, I need your help! In a couple of issues, but for now I am stuck with this one; I am trying to integrate or connect an actual MIDI controller, the Mackie Universal Controller, to the X32. This would be via MIDI connection, not USB. I know that the X32 talks to DAW's via its internal MCU connection, but can the MCU version 1 , Device/controller, connect and be used to control the X32 for 8 channels? This device would act as like the Behringer X-Touch. Thanks!!!! ~Angel 🤟😇

My assumption is that it can work, but you will need to program the different features/pads to control specific midi channels. I have never personally used MIDI connected to these consoles so I can't offer any insight, but my assumption is that the X-touch is a similar tool and just has the midi calibration already hardcoded for ease or use.

Hi Alam, Thank you for all the tutorials you have doing over the past years. I have learnt a lot from you. I have a question, I'm hoping you can help me out with. I'm using an Midas M32R Live mixer and I would like to send a stereo mix bus mix (11 and 12) to OBS over USB (X Live Card) (M1 Mac Mini). On input channel 1 is my kick drum. On my input channel 2 is my snare drum. I'm using an analog snake and I'm using the 16 XLR inputs and 4 aux inputs on the back of the console. I do not have a digital stage box. At the same time I'm doing a multi track recording into my DAW ( Bitwig Studio). I've routed the mix busses to outputs 1 and 2 . OBS is only able to see outputs 1 and 2. In my DAW, channels 1 and 2 is receiving the mix bus signal together with the kick and snare inputs. Also OBS is receiving the same signal. Is there a work around this scenario where I can get just the mix bus signal into OBS without the kick and snare mixed in and also the multitrack recording without having to remove the kick and snare on Input channels 1 and 2 ? You can certainly use these two together, but I will recommend only using it for your livestream environment and not your house mix as there will most likely be latency added to those sounds. Let me know if you are trying to use this in your house mix or just in your stream and that will determine how you setup the routing. The ideal setup would be: Inputs > multitrack into DAW > EZ Drummer plugin > DAW Mix > Stream If this is the way you want to go you would setup your routing just like I have in this multitrack recording video here. kzbin.info/www/bejne/pYHVkpqQlN1qg7M

Assuming you have 8 mics (or less) on your drums you can (1) go to Routing > Input and set channels 1-8 to Card 1-8. (2) Then go to Routing > Card and make sure your settings have 1-8 set for wherever your mics are plugged in (local, AES50a, etc). (3) Finally, route your 8 channels into tracks in your DAW with input coming from the appropriate mic channel and then route back out the same numbered output with a Post Fader send in your DAW. This will bring the mic into the console, directly out to the DAW, hit your EZ drummer plugin for the channel, then go back out with the new sound into the console across USB and into your fader.
