Sound ideas is recording crash sounds. A large variety of items were involved in the session - including everything from breaking glass and to large impacts - all recorded either on location or in the studio. On this particular day, we tried something new... crash sounds in an empty dumpster!
Recording the tossing of various heavy objects into a dumster created particularly juicy sounds with lots of resonance - the unique natural reverberation helped to emphasize the crash sounds. We also took a hatchet to old window panes and glass doors.

This is great. I have a question though. The final track has a nice punchy low end at the start. Is it just a result of layering the sounds together or is that done through EQ or some other post process?
