This song and this fuckin band has thrown my head for a loop over the past year. Haven't thought of them since they released this song in 2008 and I saw them at club relevant or some shit in VA. Now ten years later I hook up with this girl and she's like "do you like metal?" Obvious answer. "Oh do you know I am abomination?" I double take as I've never heard anyone say that band's name apart from the friends I dragged to that show (I think Texas in July or this or the apocalypse was headlining who knows). She's like "my best friend used to date Phil druyor I have an unopened copy of Jaw Dropper from the release party if you want it phil is kind of a whiny douche." I'm like "lol sure why not"...then, mere months later, here I find one of the best drummers in metal doing what I assume is the remastered version of the single off that same fuckin album. I know it's a coincidence but it's just blowing my mind because I have not heard of or thought of this band since 2009ish.

Hey Chris I saw in your studio interview video how you said you broke a lot of sticks, and if it helps, i wanna recommend the Thomas Lang Signature Vic Firth sticks....they're a bit on the heavier side (which I personally prefer over lighter sticks) but they are really really strong (due to the thickness). Also there's a protective lacquer on the outside of the stick (white) which gives them a little more life. They are also acorn tips, so you get a really heavy fat sound, especially on the snare. It's just a suggestion

Chris Turner, Halps and Garstka are my three biggest idols. I am just getting back to practicing drums after half a year of basically zero drumming. Decided to start tackling this absolute monstrosity. My footwork is a complete disaster compared to this young Adonis' cyborg legs. This piece is going to leave blisters even in the places you didn't think of getting blisters in. Though it is a very difficult song, I am going to use it as a way to improve my horrendous footwork and get more consistent on the kit.

You shouldn’t be getting blisters bro that’s a technique issue or start using thicker sticks. Trust me used to get blisters 24/7 playing metal (or any genre) but I was just gripping the sticks way too much between my thumb and index finger, you have to make sure there’s enough space to stick an entire finger through it.

Yeah man! Was a few days into tracking and I went a little too hard haha, so we went and did this thing where they freeze you from the neck down for 3 mins. Really helped reset my muscles to keep on at it :)
