Would have been easier on the ear with a tuned B string.

I liked the Martin better, however it was very close The RD-318 was pretty good. I liked your playing too!

The Recording King is mahogany and the Martin is rosewood. So a comparison here would only serve to point out the differences between mahogany and rosewood guitars.

no contest here...i never heard a King come close to a martin....they are very good!! but the smoothness and depth of a good martin!! wow...nice playing btw

There should not even be a contest here, given that the Recording King is mahogany and the Martin is rosewood.

What strings do you use here?

Doesn't the recording king use the old Martin forward bracing? It's not a copy the same mahogany guitar Martin is putting out now. Much more similar to a much older man... Including the top wood.

The Recording King is a great guitar for the money. I've sanded the thick gloss finish off the top and it's sounding better still now. The top is Adirondack spruce.

I don't understand the point of this video its apples and oarnges. Different brands, different top woods, different back and side woods. Probably different strings. They both sound good.

Yes I agree. I'm just pointing out the fact that you don't have to spend a lot of money to get a good sounding acoustic guitar. 🙂

@@TheGwenfroBluesman You certainly don't I echo your thoughts. However for me, I'll over spend on American made product every time over a company that pays its employees peanuts. Great playing sir and god bless.

@@TheRyanshamowski God bless you too. Yes it's an awful shame that the Asian factory workers are treated so unfairly.

Recording king was a brand setup by one of the high ranking members at Gibson (Greg rich). Unlike most Asian manufacturers, recording king has their own factory and pays their workers much more than standard factories. Other brands that have even higher quality factories (basically custom shops) and treat their workers well are Eastman and maestro.

@@only1cel I couldn't find anything online that cooberates those statements. What I do know is if the pay was so good, there would be no reason to have it made overseas and designed/ setup in america. They would just do it all in house over here. The pay over there maybe better than your standard guitar factory in china but that isn't saying much to me. But again its a fact they make them over there to save money.

Martin by a mile.

Why are you comparing a mahogany guitar to a rosewood guitar? Completely different overtones. It's just going to turn into whether someone likes rosewood or mahogany more. And rosewood is the chimier, prettier sound. Another thing is that the recording king wasn't quite in tune
