Wow at this low gain setting. They are super similar in tone

Yeah, that’s what it sounds like on KZbin. Everything is processed with some extra compression, which pretty much evens out the sound. In the room, there is a bigger difference, but honestly, all three amps have the same DNA, and taking into account the fact that basically whatever I play through sounds pretty much the same. Maybe it’s the sound in my ears that I’m always looking for. Cheers 🍻

All sound great! Actually I am in between a smallbox or a twin sister; is it possible to get the smallbox sounds from the twin sister with a boost pedal or so?

@@mertmermerci218 I’ve had both amps for a few years, and I still can’t say I like one better than the other. The TS has a specific sound largely due to the rectifier tube. However, the two amps have more in common than they have differences, so their sounds can be tuned quite closely without adding additional boosts or drives. Cheers.

Damn, they're so close it's incredible. I was contemplating a Twin Sister purchase to go along with my Wildwood-Edition 3-channel Friedman Smallbox...I think I'll save the $$ now! They sound so close it's not worth the spend

Actually in the room the sound is a little bit different than on youtube. Maybe because YT puts compression on all videos. The Twin Sister sounds more creamy and round since it has tube rectifier IMO. It is the best to try it by yourself if you find some around. Cheers🍻

@@peterglavanov I owned the original DS... The version II of it with the gain switch, but I know the TS has even more control/shaping ability. Good call on the KZbin compression though

All three amps sound great! Id go for the Marshall if it had an effects loop but since it doesn’t, the twin sister would be my pick!

Thanks for the comment. Maybe I would do the same choice. It is not easy tho :-)

Jcm 800 2203 reissue has FX loop. As does the studio classic (sc20).

Great video! I'm researching these and wondering about the rectifier of them. Twin Sister is tube rectified but what about the Small Box & the JCM800 ?
@peterglavanov Жыл бұрын
Hi. Yes the Twin sister is with tube rectifier and the SB and the 800 are not. Cheers🍻

@Peter Glavanov Great, thanks for that info. Did you happen to look at the inside of those Friedmans? I know they use turrets & point to point wiring on some amps & nice thick pcb w/ double sided traces on some other ones. Just wondering what the Small Box is.... I'm pretty sure the Twin Sister is high quality pcb.
@peterglavanov Жыл бұрын
@@topfloorstudio2684 both are turret boards (Twin Sister and Small box50) The JCM800 is PCB.

@Peter Glavanov oh wow I didn't know that. Good deal thank you.

Wow, great playing. They all sound great and the audible differences are subtle to me. How do they feel?
@peterglavanov3 жыл бұрын
Hi Joey. Thanks for the comment. Live there is a more noticeable difference in sound between the three amps. Apparently there is automatic sound compression in the tube. All three amps feel great when I play but the Marshall has some special mojo which is helpful for the sound when you're recording. Best Peter 🍺

Maybe it's me, but the Marshal has something special about the crunch tones. The advantage the Friedman has is the clean in my opinion. What do you think?
@peterglavanov2 жыл бұрын
You are right Glen. I am a big Friedman fan and still prefer them for my live performances because their amazing versatile sound, MV and fx loop. IMO they sound more polished compared to the old Marshalls like JCM800, JMP and the older. Talking about the clean sound I don’t like clean-clean. I always set the clean channel (if it has one) with a little grit. It cuts in a band situation better-I can clean more from the guitar volume knob if I need to. Marshalls clean great as well.
