The Avantone ribbon mic is really something to hear for Gtr as well. Ray Kennedy ( 5 time Grammy winning producer/engineer) turned me on to it few yrs back. It still beats all my other mics on Gtr cabs. Runs around $250 !

if you do it everyday as a job were people are relying on you being at the top if your game and playing the right thing always knowing what is "just enough" but never "too much or too busy" you will eventually possibly play 25% as good as Tim on his absolute worst day but that is extremely unlikely.guitar talent is not about wishing,its about dedication to the craft

you can get one from bogner or buy one used, the cab you see is the original prototype and worth more than a bogner branded cab.generally if you see something that's well worn,it sounds good, and gets used regularly and it aint for sale

Hey! Not sure if you're still looking but Line 6 used to make a ported 1x12 that was based off the Bogner design. Highly recommend and fairly affordable!

Tim, are you tracking with the effects in or reamping and adding them back in? I have so many people bag on me for committing to effects while tracking. As always I love your sensibility and tone!

Chances are it's both. 2 tracks, one's DI for reamping, one's the full sound. You've got to be able to respond when the artist says "I don't like that sound."

I watched the masterclass and it’s most likely just one track, no DI. Warren likes to "commit" to a sound.

What guitar is that one Tim? the Satan neck LP type. great video btw. Are there any boutique brands you recommend in the lower $800 to $1600 range? I would love a LP knock off that was more faster as well than my LP's Thanks!

Tough budget for set neck style guitars. No really the LP sound, but checkout the solidbody Duesenbergs. They have the most comfortable neck shape and great playing PLEK'd frets.

***** No problem Mark. But, rather than finding a boutique guitar, find yourself a really good tech to properly set up your guitar. Make certain the nut is properly cut, the frets are even, the neck has the right angle and relief, and the bridge height is correct and at the same radius as your neck, Providing your guitar doesn't have major flaws, your guitar will play and feel 10 times better.

+northof50now Thanks for the info, My guitars play super nice. I do my own set ups it's not really any of those things I've had techs to say they're impressed with the playability. I'm just looking for different is about it I've played some boutique made guitars some good and some not I'm just wondering if there is a overlooked boutique brand that rips with playability in quality that's flying under the radar for maybe around 2 Grand tops.
