This is becoming one of the best no BS recording channels. Many others are becoming gear commercials in disguise.

The pop filter with the bathroom sponge lol! We should make one with a loofah attached with a rubber band! HA then we wait to see what the vocalists look on their face will be. All jokes aside, hope you are doing well Manny! Thanks for the awesome video as always :)
@mannysmiclocker7 ай бұрын
Actually tested one and they just don’t sound the same whatever reason these sponge type filters have no sound( Pop Killer) or total change but if you get one of the ones that use for washing yourself their very dull and dark sadly

@@mannysmiclocker Lol, ok I was just kidding but the fact that you actually tried it makes it even better! Amazing. Sad it sounds dull and dark though. You rock!

That pop filter looks like the stuff that are in vacuums. I made a pop filter with my aunts panty hose. Works just fine.
@mannysmiclocker7 ай бұрын
Honestly it’s the best pop filter I’ve used. No artifacts or change in Eq of sounding muffled specially w a tube. If cranked. Thanks for sharing and they don’t smell like a Nana’s lol
@SeanDuranMusic7 ай бұрын
@@mannysmiclocker I don't know if you have one of those vacuums that you have to clean, but there's a filter between the can vacuums. I am sure that material would be a heck alot better than pantie holes. But I have never seen any places to find that stuff. But no thanks for showing that, because if I find a place to get that filter beside buying it from a music place. That might be better. But my holes have lasted for decades. Been along time. Just keep entertaining us, and what's out there. I think alot of people never check what's out there anymore. I was never like that. I don't have the time. I know what works for me. Peace ✌

I did the pop killer and you put it against your ear and have someone talk at a low volume and then you move it away. It should be no difference so if you find one, just put it against your ear and have your friend or your wife talk into it and then see if there’s no sound change. Actually went to target to find some of the same kind of scrubs and they do block a lot of the sound they’re very muffled.

I believe the material is called reticulated open cell mesh filter foam. Loudspeaker companies eg Meyer Sound have used this type of product for many years with their grill covers because of the neutral, non-effect on audio.

That studio looks suspiciously like an office. Do you have a studio tour? How do you make that work?
@mannysmiclocker7 ай бұрын
I mean in real life studios, any room that you use in your fill with recording can be called a studio. The main company is called Analogr and it’s a huge warehouse about half the size of a football field a different owns it and his let me merge my studio into some of the recording gear, so yeah it’s kind of a melting pot of Gear with a cat like me that knows how to make records, kind of a perfect situation but yeah it doesn’t look like a studio. But I do because the killer bands in Los Angeles so I just fill them with cool artist and there you go we make records.

@@mannysmiclocker I think it’s awesome, makes me wonder if I can rent some space where I live and just make it work. It looks like you’re even using cubicle walls?

@@mannysmiclockerHey Manny, what vocal mic do you like if the singer/screamer has a crazy amount of 2k-3k in their voice? Also, fav mics for acoustic guitar? Thanks man, loving your content.
