Growing up with a sister who owned and trained horses, I got to be quite good at mouth clucking, as that is what trainers do to get the horse to obey commands! 😇

Hi Angela! Thank you for this video. You've gifted me a whole lot of wonderful information I would have had to struggle with to figure out on my own.

I feel like I should’ve watched a video like this before I started lol. Great video! My first book was 14 hours long and the main character was a mix of Elmo & Mickey Mouse, but it was all a great learning experience. Also I’m a snapper, can’t help to snap my fingers when I make a fumble. Definitely gonna look for more of these videos asap. Thank you for making this!

@freddieheinz5721 thank you for watching! That sounds like a tough character to maintain that long but you're right, now you're experienced!

Hello Angela! Great video! I'm learning how to use Audacity at the moment. Why do you use Adobe Audition instead of Audacity? Thank you!

Hey i love your videos. I made an acx and want to start auditioning as I've been told Ive got a good voice and have narrated a few short stories on fiverr. Do you have any videos or tips on messing up due to nerves, is it bad if you have to retake quite a few times? Also is $50-100 pfh okay to ask for as a newbie on there?
@VoiceOverAngela

@SweetNightmareASMR yes, although it is quite normal to do several retakes. Don't judge yourself for retakes, we all do it. And yes, $50pfh is where I started too. 😊

Great video. Just a idea that might make your editing faster. Can't you just take the Room Tone, put it on a separate track? That way, it will cover all those gaps. If not, no worries.
@VoiceOverAngela
@VoiceOverAngela 5 күн бұрын
@ehdforlife you could do that for sure. However you'd like your process to flow. There may be sections of your audio where louder noise is present, the separate track may just enhance the noise instead of replace it with lower noise/ room tone.

Hi Angela! I've been perusing your content for the last few days because I'm looking to start this process. In other materials I've read, they say things like it's dangerous to do books with no Amazon reviews and under 3 hours because of scammers. Can you talk about some experiences you've had on both ends of the spectrum with books in that vein?

Hi! Thanks for watching! If you're looking at royalty share, yes, I'd look for some good reviews before you audition. If you're looking at pfh, you could ask for 50% payment upfront (i always do) and that will tell you right away who you're working with.

Somewhat unrelated question for more experienced VO artists: I just finished making my Wix website. How many demos should I have on it before going live with the site? Or does it matter since I'll be updating it often anyway? Thank you!
@VoiceOverAngela
@VoiceOverAngela Ай бұрын
@brianSalem541 id say as many as you have. 3? 4? You can add or delete as you go, don't let anything hold you back from moving forward.
