This is one i wouldnt have bothered with but hey nice work man. I do the exact same thing as my job and so many times no one wants to try and repair ecus. Thats where i always give it a go you win some you lose some but the profits on the winners can really keep u motivated

If i would have saw a photo of it like this at first I would have declined but The photo the customer sent me was only two broken legs before they had made any attempts on it so I had them drop it off then found it like this. Since I had it in front of me though figured Id give it a go.

@@ecurepair mine isnt nearly that bad, still has all the legs...eeprom is a little melted/deformed but nothing like that....car still starts and runs, just a few lights dont work...your vids are inspiring me to try this, probably a bad idea, but im thinking i can read/save the data from my old bcm eeprom then remove and then get a salvaged bcm eeprom connect it to my current bcm then write the data on to it........would rather send it to some1 like you but now sure how much it would cost?

What kind of carnage do people put their electronics through to make them turn out like this?

Why not use liquid no clean flux ?
@ecurepair3 ай бұрын
I do. I use kester 154 and 951 usually. Sometimes I will use amtech flux paste. All is no clean but it still a good idea to clean it off.

Nice work
@BHSAHFAD Жыл бұрын
why didnt you just use a dremel to access the pins?
@ecurepair Жыл бұрын
there are no pins left. Only tiny bonding wire and then the die

@@ecurepair i got you, i was thinking this was a DIP8 lead frame which does have its legs go almost all the way to the center of the chip meaning DIP8 has very short wire bonds, SOIC8 lead frames do have a way longer wire bond... i was just thinking of the wrong package, had it been a DIP8 you would have been able to dremel in because the thick part of the leg does go inside the package almost all the way to the center.
