It's a learning process. You'll get to similar results in short time if you put some thought into playing. Just a week ago i got my first >1000 population city. I've been playing my like 7th or 8th city. My strat was to use tilapi's woodcutting skills to make a buck and from that i was able to buy other neccesary supplies instead of wasting people on making them. When i saved enough fortune, i recruited myself an army and got a region captured, from which i brought slaves who would do jobs my tilapi don't like or not good at (dondorians do industry, garthimi do mining and stuff). But your process might be different. That's all about what you come up with.

How do you not do grid cities? I cant force myself to do anything but. Also how do you manage getting every singe pop at max happiness? Endgame strats I would love to hear you talk about.

I think that first question will be my next video- but these big bases start out with digital blueprints with the large roads and walls laid out on super screenshots scaled down to 768x768 that I progressively work with through the life of the base. Things still get moved around but just being able to make long smooth roads/walls with the select tools in Gimp is fantastic. The second is definitely another video... or ten. They all (mostly) want the same things but I've tried to set my priorities and production areas to be vaguely thematic to races. I'm redoing that in a few areas where I forgot to set the building type now. There's also ways to build services to make them hyper efficient- assuming you have all your Realms going with wood, clay, stone, meat, eggs, fruit etc etc: try putting tiny haulers (set to off and holding each raw material/food) inside a gap inside your Food Stalls and Markets ;)

what is your system specs, and how well does this colony run on it?

I can get max about 10x when running at '25x' speed now; not bad all things considered! I still get 120fps at 5x. i9-13900KF DDR5 at 5500 - Likely my current bottleneck (same for most management sims) RTX4080 - the fans don't even turn on for this game

@@deighv you think the memory is the bottleneck and not the cpu? wow. Hoc many gb of ram does your system have? I asked this question because I was eyeing this game, coming from rimworld enjoying big ant colony sims I want to be sure about what will I get. if you are familiar with rimworld, my late game 60 pawn 60 mech 20 million wealth colony uses 16gb ram at least

@@bugrilyus I have 64gb. To my understanding the bottleneck is from the system's ability to get instructions from ram to the cpu and back, so bus speed will play into this as well. I never checked... My game is currently using 1gb of ram :| Syx is in a category all its own, the developer is a bit of a prodigy in terms of programming skill; I can't recommend the game enough
