Aaah! Stinking kids! Wow! That's impressive! I am hoping to match them, but expecting to ruin my wheel before I learn. Lol! By the way, congrats on the train.. I imagine it's more fun doing it WITH other people. I have not seen any of these in Boise.. so if I figure it out, I will be rolling solo.

Get ready for a lot of head turns and stares by bystanders wondering what the hell you are riding.

Cool. Makes me think I should have trained along a fence. Maybe it is all about youth and not being afraid to break something. Us on the other hand are much more cautious which no doubt slows the learning process.

I'll blame it on youth. ;)

Marty Backe I agree with both of you. I have not seen Marty announce his age, but I am 7 years older than Duff, and hoping not to bounce off the pavement. I am considering starting at a park on grass so it's easier on both the wheel and myself if I crash and burn. What do you guys think about that?

It will make falling easier but unless the grass is short and the ground very flat it could be more difficult to ride on.

I'm 56. I no longer bounce. More like a thud ;-) Grass is a bad idea. It's not at all easy to ride on unless you have experience. That all being said, for the most part I never actuall fell while learning, but my shins and ankles got abused, and the wheel hit my legs when it fell. I only fell once like Duf, and that was while making a 0mph turn where I think I understeered. Usually you're just jumping off as the wheel crashes.

Yea I couldn't believe it. I have heard of some people learning quickly but never saw it first hand.

i needed about 4/5 x 30 minutes to get the wheel going and drive like Daniel....(my age 47)...but: i personnaly witnessed a dude doing it after 1 minute...riding straight and doing curves and slaloms like he want to! On his first try he did only 2-3feet...on the second try he did it fine, even better than Daniel in the video!!! He was in his 20th and said he done a lot skiing, boarding, etc.....So i would guess it's both youth and experience with balanced equilibrium....

Yep youth and prior experience in balance activities seems to be a huge advantage. Daniel's brother learned even faster. Almost immediately like you said.
