Hello again Vicky. I love your card recycling ideas. Your creations are marvelous. Why do people have to tell you how to get the most out of your time? If they don't like your methods they need to just move on and don't watch. Don't let their negativity get to you. Just move past this negativity. You are awesome and have many subbies who love you and what you do. Loyalty is a characteristic that some don't have. Whatever works for you is fine with most of us. It certainly is for me. Please keep making videos for those of us who love you and leave the rest behind you.

I recycle my cards right away in January because it is cold in Iowa and I just find more time in January to get it done so I am not doing it in November or December. It is so fun to do and love watching your videos showing your way of recycling. I dont care about the timer. It is totally up to you if it helps you. It keeps you on task. Bravo to you.

Don't take too much to heart when it comes to people's comments. It's just that some people do Not really understand the idea. I'm totally on board with the gratification to know that I made my own cards with my own ideas. I'm a total scrapbooker in my own right. Made at least 40 or more scrapbooks over many years. Keep it up how ever you want to. I'm gonna pull out my stuff this coming year!! Your videos are an inspiration for me!! Thanks bunches!!

Thank you for another Christmas card video even though Christmas is over. I feel like I didn't get enough Christmas crafting in before Christmas. I've been watching older videos just to get more Christmas in. For dimensional cards to go through the US mail it needs to fit through a one fourth inch slot easily. I had gone to their website to find the postal regulations, and I made a template. If it doesn't fit the standard regulations, then it will require extra postage, which usually isn't much more. If you make shaker cards that you don't want to become damaged; you can have it hand stamped at the post office. I don't mind paying extra postage for a special card to brighten someone's day.

Thanks for posting the size. I have an actual plastic guide because i mail stuff out a lot but didn't think to measure it until I was doing the video :) And you are so right about brightening up someone's day!

Vicky, I seldom choose to watch a video longer than 30 minutes so I think the timer is a smart idea. Also, have you ever used a paper cutter with a ruler printed on it? That way you don’t have to measure and mark your paper. Saves so much time.
@CraftingVicky
@CraftingVicky 5 жыл бұрын
I used to have one but I was cutting even worse if that's possible than with the guillotine so I have stopped using it lol It's very very rare that I use a ruler as you know :) I usually eyeball.

Great tips and tricks, both verbally given and just shown by example. Listen to yourself though. You made less and worried through a substantial portion of the video, feeling self-conscious about the methods that work for you. They are the methods that work for you. If folks really can't stand them, they oughta quit clogging up your comment section with complaints and revert to any of the multitude of similar channels on youtube. That's all you should need to say. We love you. Don't worry so.

I have a little one, and found it does goof up! ---paper too thin, etc. the longer the strip the more prone to distortion. My cutters with rotary blades, or separate blades usually (unless pilot error) work better. As a quilter, I've cut so much fabric with rotary cutters and plexi rulers. The longer the plexi ruler the more you get distorted fabric.
@CraftingVicky
@CraftingVicky 5 жыл бұрын
@@barbarahill6365 I actually do worse with rotary cutters! That's why I have gone with the guillotine
@barbarahill6365
@barbarahill6365 5 жыл бұрын
I'm not talking about a hand held rotary cutter, but Fiskars has a paper crafting mat, one with a rotary cutting blade and another with a funky orange piece that has a tiny blade that cuts paper. I think Stamping up and Gina K also have cutting mats or systems. These are really easy to use. I guess if you want your cutter to work better--maybe sharpen the blade, and if there is a way to make the plastic clamp grip better. I have a tacky spray from Odif. (spell check changed the name) called Grippy you could try removing the plastic holder spray it on the backside--outside 2 X and reinstalling after it is dry. It has been wonderful on the back of my quilting rulers to prevent the big suckers from slipping. I know this is not a big deal, but sometimes the little things frustrate me like crazy. Having to fix your cuts frequently, which I'm guessing is really not your fault would be one of those!

I used to make my own also but since becoming a quadriplegic I can no longer make my own. I do, however, have a collection of cards that I was prepared to use before my accident. I'm not sure where you live, but I'd be willing to send you my collection. Since your cards are bilingual, I suspect that you might be in Ontario or Quebec. Contact me at jaxslady@gmail.com since we have to downgrade and I'm pretty certain all my stamps & cards will find their way into the garbage. Watching you make the cards almost made me cry because I miss working with my hands. Scrapbooking was also a project that I had started so I buckled when I saw that you had done the same. You do a spectacular job. Stop worrying about your family, we can hardly hear them plus it adds reality to your video. Keep up the great work!
