Recycled Envelope Journal for 2021: "It's in the Bag," Blank - WIP

2020 recycled envelope journal, one-month signatures, 6 months per bag. Quick flip through these, past and present bags, to the one for 2021.*
I thought and thought about Jupiter, Saturn, and Pluto hanging around together for another year and started plotting their dance, thinking about an acrylic graphic of the influences at play. While finishing up two other paintings, I decided instead to keep thinking on the Big Guys, Jupiter, Saturn, and Pluto, and that an ephemeris for 2021 along with an empty 6 months of recycled envelope journal signatures -- in the same bag format as those I have been putting together a month at a time throughout 2020 -- would sum it up.
*I started assembling it in advance, thinking about it as a minimal conceptual piece, 2020 in two bags, and a blank 2021 in a third, for exhibit, "2021:" an unknown.

oh, my lady, YOu are a plastic artist!!, I've just checked your 90's gouache and watercolor paintings, are very inspiring, but your 1996 mark February draw, the hair!! was a combination of graphite and ink and what were those? are lines made with rollerball pens? I liked very much the chaotic mix, thank you.

I know the one now. That's a graphite portrait. He only wore his hair like that right after he washed it, and I loved it that way. I put in a special request he sit for me with "the Frederick Douglass hair" and caught him at the right time. Drawn from life. Traditional portrait. I need to take a look at it. I may have used one special all-graphite pencil (no wood, just a clear plastic skin) in the basics and shading. I use HB for most, B & 2B for shading and darker lines. I have a range (2H to B, 2B & 4B) of wooden drawing pencils and keep them sharp, working from soft to hard, big to small. No pen. No ink. Is that on facebook? I'm checking (still).

@@AlisonsArt ❤❤❤💜 love the effect I really thought it had a mix graphite pencil and colour ballpoint inside the hair..but maybe is the effect of the photo. the graphite technic is so complicated you really made it great. have a perfect but save hollidays.. happy days (not just christmas).
