Because your non festive songs show festivity in its true bittersweet form. There's more to Christmas than blindingly bright fairy lights and shouts of Merry Christmas everywhere you go. Like most things in life, Christmas, or any other festive occasion, isn't just black and white (or in this case, red and green ahahaa)

well Christmas has certainly lost it's spark that it had before, but that doesn't mean you can't make it magic. Spend your time enjoying and celebrating loved ones, and take your time to be cozy and rest is what i do now
@Jumblehpumpkin4 жыл бұрын
I know this is an old comment and an old video but my mom and I were talking about this the other day. The magic of Christmas just isnt the same as when you were a kid. The excitement changes from opening presents and all the activities and toys and everything, to seeing everyone else open presents that you got them. Not only that, but everyone just seems kinda over Christmas by the time you get to Christmas day, and it's more visible the older you get. I would give nearly anything just to experience the feeling of childhood excitement on Christmas day again.

Honestly this makes me feel less lonely in my unhappy holidays. Usually Christmas is a very happy time for me but I've been having a really really tough time and am counting down the days until January 4th when I go back to uni... the wait is so painful, though. I can't fix my problems from here (at home) but at uni there's: hope- a possibility I can talk to the person I really need to talk to, friends to talk to about it, and even therapists. And the environment is just generally less lonely and more hopeful. Whereas at home, I just have to pretend I'm fine despite literally crying for hours everyday, overthinking everything I've done wrong and going crazy trying to figure out how to fix the mess I made. At least I have my cat to hug here, ig. Just thought I'd vent. 2020 shall be better.

Plus, the line, "this isn't my favorite time of year but it doesn't have to be...terrible" is such a mood lol. Coming from a bit of an apathetic family, it's been up to me to make the season feel festive for myself if I want to enjoy it at all, and I find that I do :) it's doesn't have to be awkward and stilted.
