The way it starts as almost a whisper and climaxes into an intense roar is incredible. It perfectly portrays the anticipation a red army soldier would feel in the lead up to a battle and then it perfectly potrays the rush of adrenaline and glory a red army soldier would feel once the battle has commenced. Now obviously this song is meant to glorify these battles. Obviously many soviets soldiers would be feeling more fear than any kind of glory. But that is besides the point.
