Redbull footage of the 2002 edition of Rampage. I do not own this video. Uploaded purely for sharing purposes. Enjoy.

All these runs by current judges would probably get them 10-20 points in 2024

Incredible insight into childhood: bikes, people and music are just so 00s; real and pure, unrefined and so nostalgic. Kona bikes, Marzocchi Monster, proper showing knee and elbow pads.

I Love how the lines back then weren't overly engineered, they looked more like natural features

Now THAT is Big Mountain Freeride!! Can we send Brendog back in time, maybe he could be judged properly.

Agree completely. It's unfortunately turned into a slopestyle event, no longer freeride.

Brett Tippie doesn't age, or change for that matter. Stays young forever!

This sport has progressed so much. Stoked to be watching history be made every single year.

I was there in 2002, what an incredible group of riders. Film does not capture how big the drops are or how steep the terrain is.

Come to here after see the last rampage, I was looking for real wild freeride. So sad they make a carpet this year, I’m dirt jump rider so a like it, but i miss to see this kind of rider doing that, something different that i use to do.

20 years on, I enjoyed this more than 2022 Rampage. Full on, hardcore, good vibes. Lance Canfield definitely for the best lines.

The judges from 2024 should be made to watch this video. Remind them what the event was about

At 9:45 you have got a legendary moment, in which Bender himself says, he is scared af.

Bender represents...everything. 2023 and I’ll never stop wanting more Bender. I should try to get an interview with him. I’d ask him about his biggest drops, because biggest loop-out bails and I’d ask him about the prick who kept yelling “Take it to the finals, Josh!”.

So 20 years from now Rampage will be all asphalt and bubble wrapped. I can already see it now.

Started off gnarly and now it’s neutered down with slopestyle. Monster should do their own since RedBull is failing.

Send this to riders of the event today! I think they have forgot the core values and ideas! Just to have a two day comp runs and solid!! why have the comp in one day? always wind issues ...

Nothing like todays Rampage where they seem to cater to slopestyle tricking. No so much freeride and tough lines. Sad to see the direction the event has taken :(
