This first playthrough just finished minus second epilogue it was Morgan (After Arthur Morgan).They we're in it together. Had them since the start of the game even tough i had others I tried here and there. It was always hi. I named him when I felt death getting closer. I didnt wanna leave him behind with nothing of recognition. I thought he lives. To me he was there to be there for arthurs potential final ride. He's waiting deeper across the vally for Arthur though. Maybe as a form if his own. Blew me away to see him hurt to never ride again, but I try to comfort myself thinking hes at peace ike my lay through with Arthur moved on in the after life.

10:45 For the first time in the entire game, Dutch is speechless. Stammering and stuttering trying to defend his actions, but he can't. He betrayed his own ideals, his family. Everything he stood for and loved was made into a lie. Arthur did give Dutch all he had, right up to the end and Dutch turned his back on him, his most trusted son. I think this, more than anything is what breaks Dutch and makes him into what he is in Red Dead 1. You see flashes of RDR1 Dutch throughout the game, but this is where he gives up. He realizes the monster he is. Seeing his first recruit, his son and the person who has had his back, was his right hand for 20+ years broken and beaten, dying in front of him, at the hands of Micah, the person he suddenly put all his faith in. After everything, Arthur still tries to warn Dutch not to trust Micah, still tries to look out for Dutch, even after Dutch let this happen. I think its here where Dutch gives up on having any sort of code or honor and realizes what a mistake trusting Micah over Arthur was. It takes 8 years for Dutch to work with Micah again and when it comes down to it, he clearly doesn't trust Micah one bit because he lets John avenge Arthur in the end. This scene is the last time Dutch is a somehat decent human being and where the last ounce of Dutch's belief in himself and his ideals is snuffed out. Everything is meaningless to him from this moment forward. He's a fraud and a murderer, but worst of all, he's a survivor too.

The entire story leading up-to this point is heartbreaking. Most of us predicted Arthur would die, but we didn't predict just how much likeable Arthur would be in the end. The good ending and choosing to go with John has to be the most effective ending out of them all, as it brings Arthur's story to an end in the most emotional and redeeming way possible. The story still sits with me a week after completing it....what a beautiful game. Arthur is like the Farther of the RDR world, and John is the prodigal Son. Jack is the new generation born of a bygone era. It all kind of comes into place to set up Jack and his life. I would love the next game or DLC to focus on him later in life, transitioning into the 'modern' era.
@renatusrecords2426 жыл бұрын
gwynost hell yea I thought something similar myself, like goin back to whoever taught Hosea or following up on jacks story as he is now the leader of his own crew during the pre ww2 era or that and during/after the war showing how life goes on considering changes & how well jack is able to adjust if he is at all. Like wouldn’t it be dope to see jack aiding/teaching crews into the 40-50’s possibly hinting at founding a biker gang like the LOST MC? Like that would add so much depth to the gta/rdrd universe instead of considering them different spectrums entirely. @rockstar or #rockstar to get them to notice my brilliance Lmaoo but fr’z tho especially to consider how Johnny from lost mc just gets stomped tf out by Trevor in the start of gta 5 like NOPE this ain’t the age of trusting folks no more 😂😂😂😂

If you want this to be even sadder, just realize that Arthur's sacrifice meant nothing. Yes, John did mean to leave the outlaw life, but by avenging Arthur (directly going against Arthur's wish to "Don't ever look back. Not ever") he allowed the Government to track him down and start the story of RDR1, which ends in his death, in which his son, despite both Arthur's and John's best efforts, becomes an outlaw by avenging his father.

But as the story progressed I started bonding with Arthur and actually started liking him a lot. Almost to the point where I forgot John even existed. When he was diagnosed with tb, my heart dropped and I knew my Arthur would not survive. I spent so much time doing things I never really did in rd2 such as playing five finger fillet, and helping out people. Eventually when the time came for Arthur to die, I was mentally prepared to lose someone that I had grown attached to. Someone I despised at the start of the game and someone that I loved at the end of the game. Rockstar smashed it with the character development in this game.

Dutch didn't join Micah. On the mountain in the epilogue John says "Why are you here Dutch!" and Dutch says "Same as you I suppose." clarifying he had full intentions on killing Micah for 12 years after he saw what he did to Arthur.
@redthewifeyhunter40342 жыл бұрын
Out of John and everyone in the game and universe, Arthur is the most human. He still pleads with Dutch (who has even been left speechless and is rethinking the decision to join Micah [I don't count the epilogue ending in this fact]), comforts his horse (whether or not if you literally got him 5 minutes ago or had him since the start) while he/she dies, joins and protects John until he can't go no further, and even fights through TB against Micah...and, in my opinion, Micah got his ass kicked by a guy with late-stage TB. He even gives John his hat. The very hat that he got from his father, passed down from father to son. Now to John, a brother. Any character I've had the pleasure of knowing or playing as cannot live up to how human Arthur is and the fact that we do not deserve a character like him, but didn't know we needed so much.

Aww I just played this last mission and came here to se what people thought, I was in tears when my horse died and he says "thank you" in her ear. I have had a white Arabian I Called Luna for months, i got her nearly at the start of the game and has been my trusty steed since! So sad. I looked after Buell and had him stabled. We all knew Arthur was gonna die, but its a shame he didnt run away with Mary months before or didn't get revenge on Dutch or Micah, but he got peace instead :') Very well done to Rockstar for this, the whole game was great, storyline obviously and there was so much to do (hunting, bones, carvings etc) scenery and map was brill, there were loads of great other characters you meet along the way (for some reason, the trapper was one of my faves haha!) Looking forward to Rockstars next game, please make it as good as this!!!

I just realized something. If you get this ending, you die in the same way that Thomas Downes, the guy who gave you TB, does. A severe beating/advanced TB

This is simply beautiful ! The song to the rising sun after the whole Story. Damn, i burst out in tears every time ! May Arthur Morgan stand unshaken !!!

Crazy that Dutch trusted someone whos been riding with him for less than half a year, over someone whos been riding with him for TWENTY YEARS...

I had never been so affected at a video game before I remember playing through this type first time and on the way back to camp I almost cried cause I knew his death was coming

I like that it's when Dutch realizes the last person he really has is Micah, that's when he breaks really. it's a realization that he lost himself and his ideals and was now as Micah is, irredeemable and immoral.

I always knew Micah was a disgusting evil person not to be trusted right from the start of the game

An we agree that the ending music is a serious mood setter? Arthur was betrayed in all this being the work horse. I LOVE RED DEAD ‼️‼️‼️

Too me most emotional part of this was that last conversation between John and Arthur When Arthur say: I think I pushed enough When he put his Hat on John And when John say: you are my brother And Arthur answer: I know My God This game is such a masterpiece

Roger Clark's delivery of the dialogue "Im going to get you out this bull**** if its the last goddamn thing I do" is so masterful and fun fact, the song that plays during this ending is called Red Dead Redemption. Rather fitting, no?

Arthur: Tell you what Mr. Sinclair, you keep your nice shiny brass compass, get your hide back into the future and bring me some of them future meds for TB. You know, for safekeepin'. To be continued....

The first time I finished this game, I chose to help John and immediately got an achievement. "Reach maximum or minimum honor." Which I thought was cool, confirmed to me that I was doing the right thing

Not many games have such evil villains that even make you the player hate them. Few games have memorable brilliant villains (handsome jack for example) but a villain that is hated by all that's a first

Idk why but at 5:56, when Arthur escapes his dead eye and you hear some guy yelling and see the Pinkerton running up the mountain it just looks so god damn good. Idk how to explain it it’s just so fucking good, especially when the music kicks in it’s just perfect to me.
@sundaedrive57764 жыл бұрын
You would probably get this a lot but from the start of the game and the moment we met Micah, I immediately hated his friggin face and knew he was going to turn his back on the gang. Most people also knew this, not just me.

Honestly, having Micah kill Arthur is the worst possible punishment devs can give “evil” players. The fact that one of the most detestable characters to ever star in a video game gets his hollow victory over Arthur is so infuriating, it seems more harsh of a punishment than any genocide scene or ally’s death.

Arthur’s line of “I’m getting you out of this BS if it’s the like thing I do” is amazing because he says it as soon as the music starts.

Get outta the damn way! Lol I loved Arthur. This is the most I cried from a video game. When he was talking to the nun, I started to tear up. When he was reading that note near the end, I teared up. When he was riding the horse with the music playing in the background, I started to cry a bit. What a damn good game.

I just love that scene of Dutch looking between Arthur and Micah, so many thoughts swimming in his head The realization that he did pick the wrong side, the internal debating whether to shoot Micah for what he did but not doing so because he wouldn't admit he was wrong (or maybe he realized that all of this isn't solely Micah's fault) and the final shot of him just walking away since that really all he can do, just walk away from the family he ruined
