It's been a while since I last played it and almost forgot how incredibly good it looks for a 6-year-old game. I'm using Max settings and if you are near any water the performance will completely tank if the Water Physics Quality slider is maxed out you can go from 70 to 40 fps!

dlss performance looks bad regardless but the ghosting with DLSS 4 is significantly reduced. The one thing I wish could be fixed in RDR2 is the damn screen space shadows/far shadows and how it causes shadows to pop in and out right on the edge of the screen as you look around. Their implementation of this is SO bad. I had to literally disable a setting in the config files and lower far shadows to low in order to fix this. I have a 4090 with everything maxed in 4k but this one thing is what drives me crazy. I would kill for them to release an RTX update. Ray tracing would be the only thing that could fix this as it would replace all that screen space shadow shit.

Yeah, it's not perfect but was still way ahead of it's time graphically, and the crap DLSS that was in the vanilla game is absolutely horrible.

You can kinda fix it with a custom resolution 40 pixels wider, like 1960x1080 instead of 1920, helps a bit However I haven't found a way to properly make it work every time so you have to select it and alt tab every time you launch the game for the zoom to take effect

Yeah YT compression sucks, but look at the gun on the back in comparison 2 how it looks way better on DLSS 4 no shimmering completley smooth and this is only DLSS performance mind you. TL, DR it looks way better than the default dlss in the game.

I didn't use the App it wasn't updated then like I said in my pinned comment I swapped the dll DLSS 4 files from CP 2077 via DLSS Tweaker

Path Tracing in Indiana Jones works only on 12 GB or better VRAM cards if you have only 10 like on 3080 or less it won't even show up in the settings.(even if you have 12 GB 3080 model it would be like 18 fps lol pointless) but I will test SH 2 maybe.

@@jozadagames6818 you can unlock path tracing when add +pt_supportVRAMMinimumMB 9000 to the shortcut. I had about 30+ fps at 1440p with medium texture pool and DLSS quality, which is pretty good :) But yes...this is an extreme method, probably you are right and there is no point in it. Thanks!

It looks way better in person on my monitor than the default DLSS in the game but you can't see it very well due to YT compression. Also I'm using only DLSS Performance in the comparisons.

I wouldn't use it for online MP games, altering files could get you banned even though this is not a cheat.

dont think so, since the dlss file is officialy signed by nvidia still, its just a newer version. if it lets you enter online without warning, then you re good. if game detects a faulty/suspicious file it'll just warn you and not let you go online - its that simple

yes, one of the most noticeable advantages of DLSS4 is the big reduction in ghosting and smearing

Yes, the new transformer model is a big improvement for that in this game. Makes RDR2 look fantastic. It also has significantly reduced smearing so birds don't have a big black trail behind them as they fly around.

yes, it looks miles better than the default DLSS that is in the game and even DLSS 4 quality looked very good you just can't see it very well due to YT compression.

It's easy but at this point you are better off waiting a day until tomorrw when the DLSS 4 will officially release with the new driver and NVIDIA App update where you will be able to do an easy two-clicks override per game(it's not universal not all games will have it day one) in the NVIDIA App. But if you for some reason can't wait you can swapp the dLSS 4 files form CP 2077 and use DLLSTWeaks app or just watch How to instal DLSS 4 Tutorial or Guide on KZbin there are many.

Of course I'm running it in this video DLSS 4 will work for all RTX GPUs 20 30 40 but only the new super resolution Transformer model DLSS and Ray Reconstrucion, DLSS 4 Frame Generation works only on 40 and new 50 of course and only the MFG Multi Frame Generation is exclusive to 50 series.
